I’m a first year electrician and this is so encouraging! My family was suffering and I was so tired of living off the system so I decided to go to school and get my family back on track. I’m so thankful for this trade. It’s Hard work for sure but very rewarding!
Hells yes! We need more lady electricians. At my first job in the IBEW my foreman was a highly skilled woman electrician who totally smashed through the all too common misconceptions of women in construction. Great electrician, great friend
Most things on TH-cam should be watched on 1.25 speed 'cos the presenters have not learned get on with it. THIS needs to be savoured at regular normal speed and enjoyed for the flood of positivity.
Some of the best electricians I know are women!! 20 years in the trade and I agree with you attack the problem nobody else wants and lean all you can. I also agree with the networking with other electricians statement, I don't know everything, but my fellow tradesmen may.
the shop i work for has a Female project manager she worked her way up from a first year apprentice, she is smart as a whip and a hard worker! i like working with women. i think they have better attention to detail!
Did you go for it? In my state that want women in this field and others like welding and plumbing. But I think an electrician seems best out of all. They will pay women here to get an apprenticeship.

I liked this bc I’m getting ready to leave for the army and I told them tht I want to have the interior electrician job and I be excited that I’m gonna do it then I get to thinking like can I do this is it gonna be hard bc I don’t want to fail. Then I go on TH-cam n find other women that are electricians to boost my courage back up lol
It’s never too late!! If it’s something you want to do, go for it. The pre program itself is 8 months to 1 year then you get hired on with a company :)

Oh my! I’ve been in good and beverage for over 10 years and now I’m thinking what to do next and right as your mom I’m looking today at the electrician carrier. I’m in poverty. I want to be a mom. And I’m about 41 years old now. No idea about this job, going to visit the union today. Very afraid and worry if I can do it.
3rd time watching this video. I signed up for IBEW trainee program and I’m not sure exactly what I’m getting myself into. I can barely find anything online about it? All I know is the basics of the program & im basically going to become a laborer to a journeyman
I’m thinking about doing the research and looking into it. I’m 45 and i work at a school so I’m in classrooms throughout my day. It’s scary to make a change but there is a force in me to go into this trade. I feel I can do it I am a tough woman I like to move around and do things with my hands
Good job ladies. I'm fixin to sign up for some classes. I'm so scared, I'm afraid of change also. I'm 31 now and feel like I need to do something with my life and I feel like this is my calling. I don't wanna be stuck in a warehouse till I'm 65.

Fantastic, I encourage all women to think about getting into the trade. In 15 years we only had 1 apply and she was a great asset to the company.

I'm looking to apply for apprenticeship getting all my required docs. I'm tired of working in a cubicle answering phones.

I'm not sure where you are from. But all across Canada as excellent trades programs for women. All funding is covered depending on the school :)
