We had an envy 200 nissan.. we grew out of it with a dog. We went van shopping and got a ram promaster high roof 136". You will not regret standing up for a change. Our van is definitely a game changer. I would go with something you can stand up in. Comfort is everything. Cheers from the USA!

Got to do a flight in between the rain today .....very nerve wrecking ,but absolutely delighted with the clarity and stability.

We are blessed our van came with a Webasto diesel heater that does heat & water or just heat or just water. Really comes into its own when we’re up in Scotland in winter. Perhaps something to consider that lpg isn’t readily accessible in some places. Hope you had a good day at Consort. Em 💜
My van came with a webasto heater, both for heat & water, lots of options out there. If you are going up to consort, it may be worth a look at vantage, i know they are oop north 😉
I had an Eberspacher diesel heater in my NV200 and have the same model in my Toyota Proace. I believe Eberspacher do a combined heater and hot water system.
If you are going big I can't help thinking you might as well get a motorhome and be done with it, as long as you have somewhere to keep it which you have just go large and enjoy it. With all the parking aids and cameras nowdays it really isn't an issue driving and with the UK increasingly being a harder place to wild camp go further afield in Europe as plenty of places to stay.
Is it a campervan or motorhome you are looking for ? If Campervan take a look at Ultra Vans ,they convert vow/ man crafter ,shore/toilet fixed bed with garage.full oven .80litre fridge and a lounge area . I’ve just ordered mine ,ticked all the boxes ready for full vanlife .good luck with your search .👊👊
I’ll second the IH Motorhome’s. They are quality built also on VW base. We collected this week and the drive back was very quiet. No rattling/squeaking units also VW auto was a different level to the Fiat based van. Worth a look as not far from Consort

Can you educate me, perhaps do a video on the subject, and explain the difference between van, motorhome, camper, coach built etc etc............. and what about dormobile, do they still exist or am I showing my age?

Yes.! LPG coming out of underslung tanks is cheaper than coming out of bottles but first do your research regarding the fact that more and more forecourts are doing away with log pumps as E.V charging hubs are more profitable. Definitely go for diesel heating. If someone had a van custom built or did their own then if a separate diesel tank was fitted it would be legal to run the heater ( or anything else ) on cheaper red diesel.
All I'm going to say is, Do not buy a van from these people, I bought mine from them and they are an untrustworthy bunch of crooks. All is NOT what it seems.
Yes, I had a trip to that dealership when I was looking for "Kermit " quite a trip from Henley. They certainly had plenty of vans, it almost felt to big, to busy. Then I think it was 2 weeks later that we found each other at my local dealer. 🐸 😀
I also visited this dealer years ago and got told off for looking in an unlocked van. How was I supposed to know it had been left unlocked by accident - it was the first one I saw so I didn't know they were all locked. They told me I needed to choose on the website and then they would unlock the one I wanted to buy. I left and will never go back!
That traffic was horrible 😩. The curry made up for it. 👏. We let our membership of the club lapse and not renewed it. I found last week we were not subscribed to you but re did it then. Don’t know what is happening with TH-cam. 👏
Well in my humble opinion that’s not the way to find a new van. You need to get in, feel the seats, lay on the bed, get on that toilet (😂), check out the cupboards etc……. Good luck with the search! We only have the dieselheater for warmth, with two gasbottles we have more then enough gas for warm water and cooking for a very long trip 😉
You should look at the bailey endeavour on the ford transit auto gearbox. Lovely van, large rear lounge, diesel heating, clever bathroom door that gives width in the kitchen alleyway area. Saw it at the NEC
If you get a van that has the truma combi gas heater, you should be able to swap it out for a truma diesel 4e. Until last year the 6d had a larger rectangular flue cover, so this would have been a problem. They now make the 4de which has the same flue as the gas heater. I would expect any van you buy could be changed to an underslung tank, or even just refillable bottles. Its probably still better to buy something that suits you from day 1, but also be mindful of what changes are easy and those that are not.
Good idea to have one final check locally before extending your search. Wise comment about not getting carried away. Went to just have a look at a puppy once and look where that ended up 😂. Still couldn't see you guys in a motorhome. It would be lovely to see you both again if you do get up to our neck of the woods. We wish you all the best with your search. @@jabberwokky8 I have a metallic brown Toyota Proace pop top. That gets a lot hotter inside than my previous white Nissan NV200 pop top. It has a flexible solar panel at the rear. Covering the whole room in raised solid solar panels is not an option unfortunately.
Seems like we are polar opposites from you guys, we sold our two berth small motor-home during C19 and have decided to go smaller as we approach retirement. The 2mtr height is so very important to us having experienced the difficulties in getting about, so smaller for us is good. We have also looked at propane heating which I know will eat into our gas, but I could put a diesel heater in myself, but I don't really want a separate diesel tank and possibly the smell inside the van. Good luck with your search and I know, when you see the one that clicks with you, go for it.....
You don’t need a separate tank for the eberspacher, they can feed from the main tank and can’t run it dry if properly installed. They sip diesel. I’ve never had any issues with the smell in the van. The only negative is that they’re noisy when started, but once up to temp they’re pretty quiet.
We have thoroughly enjoyed our micro camper for 4 years and limboed under almost everything. A trip from hell made us rethink and go bigger 😁👍. We will explain that in a future vlog.
Are you still interested in the VW Bilbo because there is one for sale near me in Burgess Hill at £59,950. It is Ascot grey, 2020 plate with 19,000 on the clock and is automatic.
We feel the same. The prices have become obscene. Many reasons for it and one is the explosion in how many people want to do it. We are still in the first house we bought for £44K in 1985. We stayed put because we have great neighbours. We couldn’t have kids and that saved us a tidy sum. We know we can’t take it with us when we go so we will enjoy it while we last 😁👍
No it was a waste of time really. Some vans have such a dark tint you cant see anything. A quick peek and you can instantly tell if its worth a detailed look.
We’re looking for our first camper an at the moment. Could I ask what’s changed your collective minds regarding van height? Does the ‘2 metre rule’ now seem less of an obstacle, regarding car parks and height barriers? Would be grateful for your reasoning regarding this. Thanks from Shropshire.

Hi , we have a Consort Peugeot Nova, have to say we are absolutely delighted with the van , diesel heater for water and heating is great leaving lpg for cooking and we’ve only used half a tank since May and it’s had plenty of use. General build is of top quality and having a U shaped lounge gives you a good garage. Good luck with your search but I think you’ll be happy with Consort and the customer service goo and friendly
Guys, go for a small motor home, you are limiting your options looking for a van. A motor home is a van that's already converted, it will make your life easier i am sure.
When looking for a motor vehicle of any type. Personally I find it a very depressing experience. I don't know why. Maybe it's an age thing for me. Having vans not open for viewing not a good sign. Ps I wouldn't buy anything with a French Engine. George

Our 2020 Chausson has a Truma 6DE boiler. Heating and hot water on diesel or 240 volts mains hook up. It’s been absolutely awesome 👌🏽

I think a high-top motorhome will really cramp your style of being able to tuck into car spaces in all the little towns you visit.
There is always a compromise to be made. We have thought long and hard about our requirements for the new van.

Maybe look at a Murvi? 5.4m and 6m vans, expensive, but less "up north" than S&L, Concert, IH, Devon and Vantage 😊

Oh I wish we had a diesel heater , we only have heating when we are hooked up to power, so inconvenienced for freedom camping.

Personally I would not get a black campervan. I still think white is the best as it’s much cooler in the hot weather.

I fitted two solar panels and a Maxxfan to my black Proace van. The panels shade the roof from the heat and power the fan. That's the solution.

We have looked at all of them - mainly via youtube but they were good videos. 👍
