Really like the tree trunks rising up out of the tank! And those plants - growing way faster than I thought they would - really excited about this one :)
Joey, if you want to make this look immaculately you gotta add nerites, amano shrimp and otocinclus. Maybe even some algae eaters like crossocheilus or flying foxes! :)
Love this tank Joey, was thinking the back corners would look great with some kind of water lily, tiger lotus growing to the surface, fish wise a large school of Congo tetras would look phenomenal
Looks good Joey, just remember with a planted substrate depending on the brand you will have more nutrients being realised into the water column it’s a good idea to do big water changes in first couple weeks to keep algae to a minimum. have had good success with my tanks doing 50% water changes for first couple weeks only seem to get green spot algae on the glass
Absolutely love that tank ! Definitely put my favorite fish in there ! CLOWN LOACHES! They would look great in there with tiger barbs ! Maybe some different catfish ! Rope fish or also known as reed fish would look cool swimming around the trees and logs ! Definitely one of my favorite tanks I have ever seen !
Sir m a Big fan of your channel.. always keen n egar to watch your videos . Gained lots of knowledge regarding planted tanks ... keep going keep growing lot's of love n respect from india 🇮🇳🙏
Stock it with Chili Rasbora. Their bright red bodies with black marking is going to look amazing as contrast to the green plants. They're smaller fish, only around 3/4 of an inch long. They're peaceful and great schooling fish. 1,000 of them would look amazing in this giant aquarium. You're going to go through lots of "Fancy Guppy" food, though. That's the only down side. I can't wait to see the finished product of this one.
With super fine sand, with flow from pumps it will blow around super easy. I have saltwater reef tanks and with sps coral you need pretty strong flow and the fine sand is a pain in the butt!!
I’ve used that specific pool sand in a couple tanks. I hate it and will never use it again. It’s just a pain when you are cleaning your substrate, you loose it quickly when using a vacuum for cleaning or water changes. It might not be as bad in a planted tank. I don’t have planted tanks and don’t know anything about caring for planted tanks/tank maintenance of planted tanks.
Great job, it’s going to look awesome! I’ve got that white Canadian Tire pool filter sand in five of my tanks either on its own or with one part black aquarium sand to two parts pool filter sand. Best substrate available for the price I could find.
Agreed, i don't know why lava rock is underrated in the west but in Indonesia it's quite popular to use it on aquascape / filter media. Is lava rock hard to find / expensive there ?.
Joey the tank looks gorgeous already. But you should DEFINITELY put about 1000 Rummynose Tetras in there it'll look phenomenal 😊...or one solitary betta fish 🤣🤣
Tanks looking sweet dude, I know you’re wanting a shoal or something in that tank, however it would be really cool to see tyrese in there, maybe wait for the plants to establish for some months as he digs 😂 but him with 500 rummy nose tetra would be “absolutely phenomenal”
Wow joey that looks phe.. awesome... its going to look very cool if you stock it with something that going to dart in and out of the plants and something that stays in the open water. if you can contrast the two fish colors that would be extra cool.
It’s different but I like it. I’ve been skeptical of a lot of your tanks from the beginning and in the end I always end up loving it so I’m done doubting your vision lol
Would be cool if you made a series for this tank and went super in debt with keeping plants and when and how to dose liquids doing water changes lighting setting everything
What did you do with the fish from the master tank (2k)? I don't think I missed an episode... Edit ps. You should get some air plants for the above tank logs. Like Tillandsia species. They would be amazing imo
Im sure you already know what species your going with.. but that tank is beautiful and if it were mine i'd probably do different kinds of discus. Great job Joey.
In the beginning you should add root tabs to help establish the new plants. Initially the substrate doesn't have enough nutrients. As far as stocking, emperor tetra's would look awesome. Also pictus catfish, they'd fit perfectly in that tank.
Get a little worried watchhhing you stand in the tank aha obviously It can support you but just how much weight can you put in the 700 that compared to a standard 120gal etc great vids as always keep it up 👍🏻 ( would love to see some green or red bay snook ) 💗
With this kind of tank and sand substrate it would be best to add geophagus altifrons and geophagus red headed tapajos , with some sevrums and discus .
You’re probably going to need corydoras. Some type of really cool or rare schooling fish would be nice as well. The center piece fish should be a nice peaceful cichlid that has a lot of color like some Electric Blue Acaras.
🦋❣🦋Hi Joey. What kind of plants did you plant? I set up my tank very similar, except I used dark river rocks toward the front, and white granite towards the back. 😊🦋❣🦋
You should put a mbu puffer in here. Even 2 or 3 mbu. It is big enough! And once they are getting large and feeding habitually on shrimp and shellfish, you could probably easily add a bit school of tetras or small fish with them.
Hey not sure if ur gonna see this but i just wanna say that ur videos are really inspiring and having fishes rlly did saved me back from a lot of stuff like it once did to you.
Way to go.... if you had gone with a slightly larger granular size, your sand could have been spread out more, less 20 pound bags. A river pebble on the bottom at front followed by smaller and smaller on top of it, less course less course less course. how much was the cost though?
Everyone got to get joeys only fans we seen it 2 weeks ago live 👍🏼
Really like the tree trunks rising up out of the tank! And those plants - growing way faster than I thought they would - really excited about this one :)
The fact you can walk inside is incredible.
Joey, if you want to make this look immaculately you gotta add nerites, amano shrimp and otocinclus. Maybe even some algae eaters like crossocheilus or flying foxes! :)
Also there's other ways
Having ~30-60 otocinclus in this would be amazing
Be areful with female nerites though. White eggs EVERYWHERE.
@@privateportall I second this. I got rid of my Nerites for that fact alone despite them being pretty and great algae eaters
Siamese algae eaters, like 15 of them would be cool
Love this tank Joey, was thinking the back corners would look great with some kind of water lily, tiger lotus growing to the surface, fish wise a large school of Congo tetras would look phenomenal
This tank alread looking amazing can’t wait to see it full with the fish
Me too
When will we get to see fish?
I like the look of the tank already and Discus would look amazing in it.
I love that I have decorations climbing up the wall. Make it feel like a more natural tank
I think some hillstream loach be nice in the planted tank, They look like mini string rays
He can add stingrays :O
Fired Up Timelapse Video!!!! I really enjoyed how do you show the before and the after of the growth of the plants. Oh and no more tickle tickle, lol.
It's tropica, no ammonia is released.
Absolutely love that tank ! Definitely put my favorite fish in there ! CLOWN LOACHES! They would look great in there with tiger barbs ! Maybe some different catfish ! Rope fish or also known as reed fish would look cool swimming around the trees and logs ! Definitely one of my favorite tanks I have ever seen !

ooh fine sand might cause some anaerobic problems but we are 4 weeks behind so ig we are all good!
Add shell-dwellers! All that sand at the front. They would look amazing in that planted tank but perhaps the plants are a waste with them?
😯 love it & miss my tanks just keep these videos coming & a waterfall fish tank be dope & add some giant mangrove plants in lols
700 gal needs 1000 mini fish, need two schools of different fish, 500 per school. Would look amazing
Wow what a difference looks great happy belated birthday can’t wait for your next project stay well stay safe yo Pal Sal NYC 🗽

the gel on the plants is agar with added nutrients.
It's a food gel for the plant containing the exact nutrients that type of plant needs.
This is a cool project
The tank is one of my favs I think you made the right call not adding the pool filtration sand to the back planted portion
you seem to be so much happier. Tank is looking awesome, thanks for the video. Be well.
If you go the community route then a school of roselines would look nice in there once they grow out
It's looking so good! Can't wait to see it after a couple months
With super fine sand, with flow from pumps it will blow around super easy.

As soon as he held the plant up and said the gel doesn't have a smell I knew he was gonna say he tasted it lol!!!!! I Love this guy!!!!! 🤣🤣
I love the trees and roots. They look phenomenal. For stock I'd go with some discus, angels and invertebrates.
I had a 500 set up once that was fun. I kinda wish I didn't do sand on my most recent 100 gallon. Everything shows. Great video!
Aligator garr would be incredible along with a schooling fish
Braddah J this tank is fricking sick love the scape looks like a 💎💎💎💎 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
Great job, it’s going to look awesome!
I’ve got that white Canadian Tire pool filter sand in five of my tanks either on its own or with one part black aquarium sand to two parts pool filter sand. Best substrate available for the price I could find.
That sand layer beneath the aquasoil might create anaerobic conditions. Lava rock or pumice stones would have been better.
Exactly my thoughts
Agreed, i don't know why lava rock is underrated in the west but in Indonesia it's quite popular to use it on aquascape / filter media.
Is lava rock hard to find / expensive there ?.
I would love to see a big group of kuhli louches in there as the bottom dwelling fish.
Giving me great ideas for my 750 gallon! Thanks!
Love it! I'm planning to use those plants for the bottom of my multi species peacock bass tank. Thanks for the idea!
Looks amazing! You should start messing with different elevations of substrate in your tanks instead of keeping it level all the time.
Looks good dude! Nice growth in 3 weeks too. Oh and nice toes 😉 🤣
I've been watching you for years. You have taught me so much. Thank you Thank you #Man you are Hardcore!!
Hi Joey , I would like to suggest you use pumice as the base . It help reduce the soil volume and it helps promote bacteria housing
Dude thats stunning, I would be so happy to walk by that every morning.
Been here since Before the aquarium gallery and these videos still get me hyped
Wow joey that looks phe.. awesome... its going to look very cool if you stock it with something that going to dart in and out of the plants and something that stays in the open water. if you can contrast the two fish colors that would be extra cool.
Joey i dont know how you manage to take care all of it, you r the KING 👑
Love it.. I was sad about the 2000 .. but this 700 is gonna be epic..
Its agar, its a cloning medium with some nutes i believe.
Beautiful tank! 😍
I use a wide nozzle car funnel to direct the sand. Does an amazing job for those hard spots.
You should add a single betta
That ending bloopers was on point lol 😆 thank you so much for the laugh
I think a waterfall down one of the trees would look cool.
& can axolotles be with other fish? Because i think one would like being in this tank.
No
axolotls are best in species only tanks, and would also need a chiller installed on the tank, considering the heating is done in the whole building!
Looks stunning Joey !
Hey joey do you not pre rinse or clean your substrate before adding?
hey joey! amazing tank!! love the planted tank content, put some massive bolbitis in the logs, it would look insane!!
Awesome tank. Love watching.
I am really curious what you would do with a aquatic turtle tank. Have you thought of owning any?
What did you do with the fish from the master tank (2k)? I don't think I missed an episode...
Edit ps. You should get some air plants for the above tank logs. Like Tillandsia species. They would be amazing imo
They took over a few of the unused 180 gallon tanks after the public aquarium fizzled out.
Watching the joy you get from your work is amazing!
Did you turn the tank around to the clearer glass?
Great video, keep it up 🐬
I’m just blown away that you can stand in the tank without any repercussions 🤣
Im tiny & i wouldnt go in
Im sure you already know what species your going with.. but that tank is beautiful and if it were mine i'd probably do different kinds of discus. Great job Joey.
King of DIY team another awesome video that 700 gallon is looking gorgeous love it Joey and Tamara love the channel keep up the great work
I can't wait to see you cleaning this tank
In the beginning you should add root tabs to help establish the new plants. Initially the substrate doesn't have enough nutrients. As far as stocking, emperor tetra's would look awesome. Also pictus catfish, they'd fit perfectly in that tank.
Hey Joey what size is your tank and what sickness is the glass looked amazing so far currently building 500 gallon discuss aquarium
Check the video again. He went through all those specs fairly close to the beginning.
It's looking phenomenal already. Such an awesome idea of the behind the scenes. Love it love it love it 🇬🇧❤❤
Stock it with some large mouth bass and bluegills. That would be bad ass. Maybe a pike too
Great video as always don't forget to sign for only fins
Get a little worried watchhhing you stand in the tank aha obviously It can support you but just how much weight can you put in the 700 that compared to a standard 120gal etc great vids as always keep it up 👍🏻 ( would love to see some green or red bay snook ) 💗
Nice nod to the friendly giant 👍🏼
Was going say just that
Yes, wonderful memories
With this kind of tank and sand substrate it would be best to add geophagus altifrons and geophagus red headed tapajos , with some sevrums and discus .
You’re probably going to need corydoras. Some type of really cool or rare schooling fish would be nice as well. The center piece fish should be a nice peaceful cichlid that has a lot of color like some Electric Blue Acaras.
Look forward to seeing it grow out !!
2:03 "we definatley got the 3 inches we were looking for"
looks just big enough for a single betta
Lol
Imagine putting a single betta in there the betta would be like “omg- I need a betta phone to tell all my friends!”
Happy belated Joey I hope you had a great day. I really love the tank and am looking forward to seeing it done.
Joey do a discus planted tank in the 700 gallon tank it would be mind blowing
Floating plants would look phenomenal!!!
Pool filter sand is too small in grain size to cap the soil, it eventually ends up on the bottom and the soil remains on top.
🦋❣🦋Hi Joey. What kind of plants did you plant? I set up my tank very similar, except I used dark river rocks toward the front, and white granite towards the back. 😊🦋❣🦋

Behind the Scenes footage tho🤣🤣🤣
Love the tank. Would like to see an Amazon themed tank.
Add some moss to the branches :)
🤯 I wasn’t expecting that much growth. I’m afraid the ecotechs will suck up small tetras.
The fish going in will look absolutely phenomenal!
You should put a mbu puffer in here. Even 2 or 3 mbu. It is big enough! And once they are getting large and feeding habitually on shrimp and shellfish, you could probably easily add a bit school of tetras or small fish with them.
are you gonna use auto dosing? also electric blue acaras
Great work Joey, now go back and make it a proper reef tank!
Hey not sure if ur gonna see this but i just wanna say that ur videos are really inspiring and having fishes rlly did saved me back from a lot of stuff like it once did to you.
Add a billion shrimp lmao
Way to go.... if you had gone with a slightly larger granular size, your sand could have been spread out more, less 20 pound bags. A river pebble on the bottom at front followed by smaller and smaller on top of it, less course less course less course. how much was the cost though?
Where do you get your bigger aquariums that you dont build. Need something along this size.
Hey Joey, what do you think of aquarium UV sterilizers?
