I never heard of Amaranthe until I saw them open up for Within Temptation in Worcester Massachusetts concert in 2014 for the WT Hydra tour... "Drop Dead Cynical"was their big release at the time. Before the show, I met 3 of the bands, including Elise,... I didn't know them from Adam or Eve, but soon found out..... They were happy that they made gained a new fan, And one of the band I, think the drummer, Took a picture of me with Elise, And when I went to put my arm around her, She gave me a magnificent hug... Pulled me right in. That says a lot about her character, I think. Yes, I fell in love with her laser blue eyes and her long dark hair.
Amaranthe has, from what I can see, 8 more ballads (or close to)... "Amaranthine", "True", "Over and Done", "Endlessly", "Limitless", "Exhale", "Strong", "Unified" To get some idea what their overall style is, check any song from the "Massive addictive" album Enjoy
*AMARANTHE have lots of good tracks like "The Nexus", "Viral", "Amaranthine", "BOOM!1", etc., etc.,...* 🎵🔥 *Although you can't see him in the video, the cello parts are played by Perttu Kivilaakso, member of APOCALYPTICA, the Finnish inventors & pioneers of "Cello Rock".* 🎻🎵🔥🔥🎵
Amaranthe has a unique brand of synth pop metal that is irresistable. Elize and Nils are amazingly talented. (Some mauvaises langues find that Nils is overly melodramatic, which is ridiculous, the guy was made for melodrama.)
This is not their typical sound. They usually have 3 vocalists and several styles of metal. The 3rd voice being a male harsh vocal, although they are currently without one as he (Henrik 'GC6' Englund Wilhelmsson) recently left the band. Male clean vocals is Nils Molin. Elize Ryd auditioned for Nightwish when Tarja left, but they thought she was too young. And when Anette left Nightwish ,Elize and Alissa White-Gluz of Arch Enemy sang one show in Denver before Floor joined.
Annette didn't simply leave Nightwish. She got extremely ill, bad enough to be hospitalized. Why do people so conveniently leave that part out? So the band was about to stop the tour because they were very suddenly without their vocalist. But then Elize and Alissa helped the band out on VERY short notice. Alissa needed something like forty-five minutes because she didn't know the songs. I would say that is AMAZING. Together, they covered for Annette very well for having such short notice.
Elise is an endlessly talented singer, I suggest you check out what she created as a guest singer of Kamelot, for example, and it is more than remarkable that with Alissa White-Gluz they "saved" a Nightwish concert
Yes that was beautiful and pleasant to the ear!, at first I thought it would be just the lady singing but WOW that guy was an equal to that beautiful ladies voice!!
Amaranthe can move a person. The two clean vocalists (Elise and Nils) are amazing. But the style in this one is softer than most of the rest. (methinks Elise kept the arrangement softer... something she could share with her grandmother without making a special version) Anyway, usually there is a harsh vocalist (adding up to 3 on the band). Henrik aka "GG6"... just wait. (tho it looks like he just quit the band) I saw a live clip where Samy Elbanna was singing in a Swedish festival, doing some of the harsh parts... Elise is familiar with the role of 'fill in vocalist"... she was one of the two female vocalists who sang in the notorious Denver Nightwish concert (2012) when Anette fell ill). It's is so nice to see your genuine happiness and sweet-side when viewing this. But with just about any other Amaranthe video, you're gonna be hard-pressed to keep Pandora The Aggressor under control. One more thing, I think both Nils and Elise held back on their power/range in this one. On tour, this song will be one of those "give the voice a break " songs. Try on something like "Boom!1" or Drop Dead Cynical, or Helix, Digital World, or... the list does go on) (Oh, if you want another like this, try "Amaranthine" .... hm... is there a pattern here?) btw, Amaranthe had a change of male clean vocalists in the mid/late 'teens'... from Jake E. to Nils Molin ... these metal bands and their vocalists, lol.
Amaranthe is a Swedish band formed in 2008, while their self-titled debut album released in 2011. They are known for having three vocalists. Elize Ryd is the female lead vocalist and has a stunning voice. Nils Molin is the clean male vocalist. This song in particular is a ballad from their most recent album, Manifest (2020), and doesn't feature any harsh vocalists from Henrik "GG6" Englund Wilhelmsson, who was the band's previous harsh vocalist at the time of this song's creation. He recently left the band to spend more time with his family. The brains behind the band's sound would be Olof Morck, the lead guitarist. He does a lot of the production on the songs. Here's a breakdown of the band's lineup history: [CURRENT LINEUP] - Elize Ryd: Female clean vocals (2008-present) - Nils Molin: Male clean vocals (2017-present) - Olof Morck: Lead guitarist, keyboards/synths, and main songwriter (2008-present) - Morten Lowe Sorensen: Drums and percussion (2008-present) - Johan Andreassen: Bassist (2008-present) [PREVIOUS MEMBERS] - Joacim "Jake E" Lundberg (2008-2017; he was the original clean male vocalist and was with the band for the first four albums. Replaced by Nils Molin. - Andreas Solvestrom (2008-2013); he was the original harsh vocalist and was with the band for the first two albums. Replaced by Henrik "GG6" Englund Wilhelmsson. - Henrik "GG6" Englund Wilhelmsson (2013-2022); he was the second harsh vocalist and was with the band for the last four albums. They have not officially announced a replacement for him as of yet. The band has six studio albums: Amaranthe (self-titled debut, released in 2011) The Nexus (released in 2013; this is the final album to feature Andreas Solvestrom on harsh vocals) Massive Addictive (released in 2014; this is the first album to feature Henrik on harsh vocals) Maximalism (released in 2016; this is the final album to feature Jake E on clean vocals) Helix (released in 2018; this is the first album to feature Nils Molin on clean vocals) Manifest (released in 2020; this is the final album to feature Henrik on harsh vocals) I recommend checking out basically anything that they make because it's all great. If you want specific suggestions, I recommend "BOOM!1", "Helix", "Boomerang", "The Nexus", and "Drop Dead Cynical". Thanks!
I am going to have to check again but I don't think you yet discovered the Vancouver candidate power metal group, Unleash the archers..... With Brittney Hayes (slayes) as the lead singer. Is super powerful and a deeper voice... Is massive endurance. My suggestion is to start with their song AWAKENING.... Studio full play through version.
Kicking myself for not subscribing earlier, super excited you are checking out one of my other favorite bands. If you want some audio "peanut butter in my chocolate" check out Amaranthe's cover of 82nd All the Way by Sabaton. Enjoying your metal journey my sibling, much love
Pandora... I found a new very very good female-fronted metal band from Italy, thought I had never heard of before but I guess a year-and-a-half ago that he got a new lineup, and with a new young female lead guitarist FROZEN CROWN ... you will love them but I need to check to see if you also have already done them in the past
This song is a great ballad and duet by Amaranthe! Not their typical sound but ballads and duets are often very great! Too bad you haven't heard anything about the band that is so great! By the way, the Clean singer of Amaranthe (Nils Molin),is also the singer of his own band Dynazty (Power of will,Advent,Heartless Madness)!!! Want a playlist from Amaranthe? No problem: Helix,Dream,365,Countdown, The Nexus,Hunger,Archangel,Viral,Fearless,82nd all the Way (Sabaton Cover), Strong,Boom1 (hard stuff), True, Drop Dead Cynical, Digital World, The Game, Amaranthine, Burn with me (Goosebumps Alert)!!!
