interesting to see the viewpoint of efficiency, etc. Its a thing i never really bothered to get into.
I know my rune quality and when i look at runes i keep efficiency in mind. I am rolling runes with unusual stat combinations if all the substats are efficient/high rolls.
I think the most important thing that atleast helps me with deciding on runes is the mindset: can this rune roll in a way that i would keep it after gems/grinds. Now you need to compare that to your rune quality because the answer to this really depends on how many of similar runes you have. i have 2 despair runes hp% on slot6 but i have like 20 swift spd on 2.
But having the thought of if this rune rolls the way i would want it to roll would i am happy to have it/use it helps me to decide on most of my runes.
It gets a bit harder for runes you dont have a clear vision for yet. But after pretty much throwing away every rune that only had like hp+res and no spd in my time and now owning 2 halphas without having good runes for them opened my eyes quite a bit about keeping efficient runes eventho you dont have a use for them yet

I love your videos, even though I feel like I'll never actually understand how to rune my mons correctly. I'm destined to never enter rta
I don't generally do any quick math for efficiency, I think after a while you just get a "feel" for how efficient a rune is (not counting grind potential). If I have to do any quick math, I tend to work backwards by just subtracting 1% per missing point in a stat. For example a shield rune I just rolled:
Shield Rune (Slot 3)
No innate (-8)
DEF +8% (-0)
SPD +5 (-1)
CDMG +30% (-5)
RES +6% (-2)
Total: -16+100 = 84 EFF
Not sure how exact this method is, but it works for me! I also run SWEX most of the time, so I can also just check the log. ; P
At this point anything that is above 80 with synergized stats I keep and use SWOP to eventually figure out which runes in inventory stay and which go.
Honestly, mostly I use this system when I am curious if a rune is "OP" or "really good". The bad ones and the average ones u can tell right away lol. But sometimes if I'm on my phone or don't have time for swop, and I know I just want to move a generally "high efficiency" rune onto a mon, this is useful for me.
One side note - SWEX and SWOP use different efficiency formulae, with SWEX usually turning out a result 2-3% higher for some reason, though since it's all point of reference it shouldn't matter for you :)
BTW your way is probably fairly close to mine. Both will be off by a cpl %, but close enough for a quick evaluation :)

I have a little algorithm that helps me do this faster: I add all the stats together giving +3 to every 5 points into spd or crt. Flat HP I just add the number in the hundreds position, then for defense and attack i just take the number in the tens position. I shoot for a total of 55+ without grinds but that number should change as I get better. For the rune in the thumbnail 14 + 19 + 32 +23 + 15(adding an additional 3 for every 5 speed rounding up) gives 103. Which is obviously insane even assuming it includes grinds. And then it obviously depends on if the stats work together, but the simple addition give me an idea
Nice system man :) I think everything in Summoners War is honestly about point of reference (getting philosophical, everything in life is actually POR - for example, rich couldn't exist without poor, etc.). So when you're used to your system, then it makes a ton of sense because it gives you a good POR from your own farming.
The major suggestion I'd make is that you should count the points based on what the rune will look like with a mid-roll hero gem and max hero grinds - it's more accurate of an assessment of what the rune will look like when it's "done" :).
@@XennialGamer really good point, cause % gems count for a bit more w that then. I think i will instead reduce the amount of points that flat stats are worth because I want crt and spd to be worth more compared to the others

Where would you say the cut off should be on efficiency rating for someone trying to be above C2 in RTA?
Hard to judge - when I first made C2, I think it was 90-95%. That before RTA runes, and B12s and everything. So it may be higher now, but that also depends on your comp type. T1 uses lower efficiency but needs more specific stats on fast runes, while T2 needs thicker overall runes. Box / skill / etc. play a role.
So best guess? 90% with good "fast offensive" runes for T1, or 95-100% for T2 vio/will. Give or take a bit depending on skill & box.
Where is the sample rune power up?? Hahaha. It's easier to understand or at least gives more clarity. You have to put in mind that not all are math savy or excel savy. At first I did not understand your samples in excel. And lastly, language barrier. But this is kind of content is the best. :)
True. The challenge is that atm I am not farming runes (I'm living in SF and R5), and you have to farm and roll a ton of runes to get them to roll the way you want to demonstrate on a video lol. But the next two videos are less about math, and more about stats, slots and sets :)
