Make most US companies face a 10% rise in imported goods cost and watch them close their doors as sales fall off due to a drop in consumer demand at the higher prices. There won’t be any profits to tax at that point so tax could be next to zero and they won’t need anyone working on the assembly lines. They can find ways to write off things to reduce a tax liability, but slow sales with higher cost and they can do very little.
