This french game comes straight from the 90's since it was developed back in the days, it 'only' didn't get Nintendo seal of quality in time and since it was a late release it didn't make it to the SNES lineup. Hopefully this game found his public many years after and could even get a physical release in 2013. The sad part about it is that Christophe Gayraud the main person who worked on this game as its programmer dies in 2012 a year before its damn late release... :( Thanks for sharing this awesome game!
I just played this game yesterday for the first time, and yes it’s REALLY difficult, but it’s also an absolute blast to play. The visuals are gorgeous and the music is exceptional for the genre. Although planned for a 1995 release, it’s amazing this game finally came out in 2013. Long live the Super Nintendo!
Ran into a copy at a local retro game store and my buddy sniped it right from under me. Got the official release loose cart for 30 bucks. Fun as hell. Just as hard. Gorgeous as well. Great game for any snes collector.
This looks and plays a LOT like Capcom's Midnight Wanderers from Three Wonders. The levels, art, animation, weapons, enemies, etc... Everything! Surprised there's no mention of it!
Great graphics (best sprites ever seen on Snes!), smooth moves, great music... This one' s a MUST play! Loved the "Sssssnes Drunk"; this time sounded different😂 Have a good rest of yer day!
Thank you, I was trying to remember the name of that arcade game, it was obvious to me where they got the design idea from! Though I know it as Three Wonders.
Yup! Te game is called Three Wonders, although the particular "segment" this was based on is called Midnight Wanderers (the other 2 games were Chariot the shooter, and Don't Pull the puzzle).
@@user-wt4yr6fp7j Strangely never got a SNES release, as I could have imagined them (if not all on one cartridge, then again if Nin could make Super Mario All-Stars) on that platform, perhaps a bit nerfed graphically.
At best you could say it’s “heavily inspired” and pays homage to midnight wanders while at worst it’s a blatant clone. Either way both games are great and worth playing (both are also hard as hell lol)
I recommend anyone interested in a physical copy of this to contact Super Fighter Team about it. It seems like the sole operator (may be more then a 1 man operation) of the company has no interest in re-printing ANY of the releases they own the rights to in cartridge format, this includes not only Nightmare Busters, but also 5 Genesis games, 3 being RPGs, as well as a really good Lynx horizontal shooter. I am not sure why they have taken this stance. I can understand personal issues, but surely if you own the rights to these titles and there are demands for them, they can continue to provide them to those that are interested buyers, even if production may be long for them. I could understand if they constantly had new releases being made that they couldn't go back and reprint the older versions, but that just isn't the case. At the very least, if there is enough interest and demand from retro gamers for these, they could perhaps find an alternate company to help manufacture and distribute these games that really should be more wildly available. (Just dont let it be Piko Interactive, I love what they do, but their cartridge quality needs a major upgrade)
I messaged you once about these "new release" type games (either here or Reddit, not sure) so it's awesome to see you making this sort of content, too. Especially as you burn through the best of the original releases. I was lucky to find a very good deal on this CiB (on eBay of all places) a while back and it is a damn fine game. Have a great rest of YOUR day!
good game, but the size of the sprites... this make the hitboxes a nightmare (no pun intended), because makes easier to the enemies shoots you like an swiss cheese
They probably decided not to release in fear of getting sued by Capcom, but its really a miracle if the actual SNES was capable of running this smooth arcade experience.
Great video. This game was tough but very cool from what I played on emulation. I would definately have to learn it in sections with save and load states to practice.
Great review! The game is pretty sweet, but like you said, very tough! The original pre-orders went up in 2012 (I pre-ordered then) and sold out in a week or two, and they've done one reprint since. This team was one of the first ones to print unreleased games, and did crowdfunding before crowdfunding was a thing.
From what's shown here, Nightmare Busters feels more like 3 Wonders with a bit more umph. The leprechauns fighting off child nightmares is so Grimm Fairytales... I dig it. The source material alone gives it some great value to give it a try at least once.
This looks rad. I'll have to check it out. UPDATE: It was just announced that a remake called Nightmare Busters: Rebirth will be releasing for PC and consoles. =D
Awesome video SnesDrunk! 👌😁 Maybe you could make a video about "new" snes games? Maybe from 2000-2018? It is very cool to see what new developers can produce for old systems.
PIX n LOVE just sent an email sayin that NIGHTMARE BUSTERS is gettin a re-release with updated graphics. NIGHTMARE BUSTERS REBIRTH for current consoles coming soon
Lucky Charms: the game xD It looks really good. Very good move, to finally release it when vintage consoles get a revival of interest. I doubt the developer would have had success as the competition was fierce in 1995. I definitely need to check it out, even though I am quite bad at shooters =)
Back at the 90s i noticed an arcade game called Midnight Wanderers...it was a great great great and succesfull arcade platform game but unfortunatelly NO home ever existed...i couldnt understand why that happened...neither the 32bit consoles had smth similar (maybe Rayman was close to the graphics style..)...but the gameplay of 3Wonders wasnt anywhere. So now it seems to me very strange why this great SNES game stoped from producing...especially if we think that back in 94-95 Nintendo was struggling to compete the 32bit new consoles through the use of FX2 chip or Silicon Graphics tecnique...this game might be a great weapon..
Yeah, I liked this better when it was called Three Wonders. If you can't get this, you can get Three Wonders on Capcom Classic Collection for the Xbox, Playstation 2, and PSP. It's more fun and less frustrating, and you get two extra games on top of that (a shoot 'em up and an action/puzzle game similar to Pengo).
If you combine: 'interest + research' with 'google + youtube + word of mouth' i'm sure you will harvest the same results (...depends on your level of discipline). The real question is: How do you have the time to test / play and create videos with gameplay to it - and what motivates you to keep going?
And then the comment section fell into a paranoid, morbid depression because they weren't told, "Thanks for watching and have a good rest of your day." Now everyone is having a terrible day.

Love dat haha
...any way you can.
But it's damn close to midnight! I don't have any day left!
This game looks dope.

"Its best to use a second player if you can" or if you have a friend. *cries lonesome tears*
"Play this any way you can" is code for make friends with someone who owns this cart and spend a weekend with them.

I just finished it and Midnight Wanderers is a masterpiece in comparison. It is decent but to hard
Precisely what I thought. I love Midnight Wanderers and Chariot both.
YOU DIDN'T TELL ME TO HAVE A GREAT REST OF MY DAY 😫
Great graphics (best sprites ever seen on Snes!), smooth moves, great music... This one' s a MUST play!
Loved the "Sssssnes Drunk"; this time sounded different😂
Have a good rest of yer day!
“Have a great rom-errr...REST-of your day.”
Complete Midnight Wanderers rip off... but still, this would've been awesome to have back in the day.
Thank you, I was trying to remember the name of that arcade game, it was obvious to me where they got the design idea from!

I was just thinking that the inspiration is a little too inspired
At best you could say it’s “heavily inspired” and pays homage to midnight wanders while at worst it’s a blatant clone. Either way both games are great and worth playing (both are also hard as hell lol)
Had no idea this is a "new" SNES game. I have been playing it a bit via rom and wow, it's new??? Feels classic AF.

man it looks amazing tbh glad you posted about it, didnt know it existed
If the music in the background is from the game, it’s got a tremendous sound!!
You had me at two-player cooperative... and at “SNASDrunk!”
good game, but the size of the sprites... this make the hitboxes a nightmare (no pun intended), because makes easier to the enemies shoots you like an swiss cheese
Going to see if I can add this to my SNES
+Still Available
I'll be doing the same tomorrow! :D
Obviously based on the arcade game Three Wonders: Midnight Wanderers
yeah almost a clone
Yeah I was about to point out that. SNES drunk says it looks original, but damn no!
Midnight Wanderers is one of my favorite games ever made. This Nightmare Busters is very similar and very fun but harder than hell. But I love it to.
They probably decided not to release in fear of getting sued by Capcom, but its really a miracle if the actual SNES was capable of running this smooth arcade experience.
yes! thank you)) i've been thinking that the entire video, haha)
Great video. This game was tough but very cool from what I played on emulation. I would definately have to learn it in sections with save and load states to practice.
Love the way you said SNES DRUNK on the intro to this one. Caught me off guard
I owned this cartridge several years ago and unloaded it because of the brutal difficulty. It's a shame because it is a very striking game.
Been curious about this one for a while, thanks for reviewing it!
Great review! I'm so glad I bought this from Super Fighter Team a few years back when they released it.
This looks AMAZING! Definitely adding it to my must-buy list
Awwwww I was looking forward to having a good rest of my day guess this afternoon is going to be bad now
Have you did anything on final fantasy 3/6
Will have to try this one. Thanks for the the heads up

If you mess with the Lepre, you get the Chaun!
Snesdrunk good guy still bringing us new classic snes games :)
Just experienced the power of TH-cam. Found four nice copies on Ebay last night, put em on my watch list. Next morning, all four gone :-O
This looks rad. I'll have to check it out.
UPDATE: It was just announced that a remake called Nightmare Busters: Rebirth will be releasing for PC and consoles. =D
I used to play this game on an old Motorla back in the 2004/2005 or so. Never got to know the name of the game till today, Im stunned.
Just found a complete copy on EBay $82.50 total. Considering availability and other ridiculous prices I got a pretty good deal .
Awesome video SnesDrunk! 👌😁 Maybe you could make a video about "new" snes games? Maybe from 2000-2018?
It is very cool to see what new developers can produce for old systems.
This looks like a lot of fun. It has great art and animation and is fast paced.
PIX n LOVE just sent an email sayin that NIGHTMARE BUSTERS is gettin a re-release with updated graphics. NIGHTMARE BUSTERS REBIRTH for current consoles coming soon
Seriously? Oh, that's GREAT!
makes you think of how many other games got left behind like this and we haven't seen and may never see. This game had the potential to be a classic
I just recently got a portable arcade machine that has 5800 games on it and this was one of the games that came preloaded into it
Lucky Charms: the game xD It looks really good. Very good move, to finally release it when vintage consoles get a revival of interest. I doubt the developer would have had success as the competition was fierce in 1995. I definitely need to check it out, even though I am quite bad at shooters =)
Stumbled across this game summer of 2017 and I loved it. Lots of fun, but make sure you put in the code for autofire.

Nice review. As long as you don't mind getting a repro cart from China it's easy to find a copy.
Those power-ups look straight outta Super Ghost's N' Ghouls!
Wow! A 2013 Super Nintendo game? Never heard about it. That's awsome!!
Why does the screen info design remind me of Legend and Iron Commando? Even the sprites look somewhat similar.
"Any way you can" SO WHAT YOUR SAYING IS - GO AND (this message has been censored)
The greatest intro ever 👍🏾
Really cool that this was an actual unreleased game
Wow this game looks insanely awesome :-O
@SNESDRUNK The Art style reminds me of an old 2 player beat em up from Seika called Legend have you played that one as well SNES Drunk?
This is Midnight wanderers exactly like the Capcom game help me out people. One of the characters is a support character in mvc with the arrows.
That looks quite great actually..
This game is at the game store I go to. I've always seen it there but never seen it before
Been subbed for a while and have yet to see you review a game drunk >_>
Glad to see this video! Awesome.
The graphics do look impressive
Game looks pretty cool. I probably won't play it but it does look good.
Neat.
Kinda wish they'd release.it for modern consoles.
As for the game itself, yeah I would say its one of the hardest, if not hardest, games on the system. Shit gets crazy once you reach the cave.
Didn’t know they were still making games for SNES with box and book, I’m assuming it’s not on a cartridge though?
I bought this game because of you
We would appreciate if you include this and other games in a video dedicated to top run n gun games...
This looks awesome!
I wonder why he didn't make a three wonders comparison as well. I see a lot of three wonders in it.
This is an interesting release story.
Snes Drunk reviews nightmare busters, but its all a dream.
This game looks really cool!
Talk about a hidden gem !!!
Dude this game looks rad.
Yeah this game is great. I went the "any way you can method" shame it didn't come out in '95 I would've bought it
Wow I would have loved this in 95!!!! :O
This game looks great. Time to hunt it down.
Another great video man!!
lol, today's "SNES....Drunk!" was a good one. you record those fresh for every episode?
do you have a video on games that came out after the year 2000
I don't see them busting nightmares
How do you find these gems?
If you combine: 'interest + research' with 'google + youtube + word of mouth' i'm sure you will harvest the same results (...depends on your level of discipline). The real question is: How do you have the time to test / play and create videos with gameplay to it - and what motivates you to keep going?
dAda313 or he could use another search engine besides google because you know, they exist.
It looks very cool.
is the prototype the same as the 'finished game'?? I can only find the Euro prototype ROM
I bought the cart it was a remake off etsy still pretty good tho hard game but looks great
I was wondering if you'd ever do this game, like, this morning.
DAmn this game looks awesome!
They could make some money if the port it to the switch. And it will be available for everyone
This game reminds me of Midnight Wanderers.
That unholy night game looks good.
Yeah this is a great game for sure.
It's crazy how much this game looks like Midnight Wanderers and Snow Bros.
I'll be someone's friend.
Reminiscent to *3 Wonders* by CAPCOM
Some parts remind me very much of Jazz Jack Rabbit 2
And then the comment section fell into a paranoid, morbid depression because they weren't told, "Thanks for watching and have a good rest of your day." Now everyone is having a terrible day.
Looks like a hacked MIDNIGHT WANDERERS from Capcoms 3 Wonders game
Looks like 3 wonders!
I love this game
Wait wait wait wait.......they made a brand new snes game in 2017?!?!?!?!?!
Must.... Have... This... Game....
Looks very similar to the Sparkster series
