I am seriously considering the cocoon and half bug net for my 15º superior hammock. I sleep comfortably in mine with a 15º quilt inside down into 20º weather overnight.
I definitely see the Cacoon as a more simple system not having to set up the top insulation, but I do not know that the Cacoon would be warmer. Certainly the Cacoon would be a good setup down close to freezing, but as temps drop below freezing I would expect to have to add more top insulation.
Most of the temp ratings on sleeping bags are survival ratings .. meaning you will be cold all night but survive.

@@livinlarge1247 I would probably use the cocoon in the warmer temps like 30º - 40º
because I think it packs smaller than a full size quilt.
I just ordered a couple cocoons today. Have you received yours yet? I see this video is 2 months old.
