The comparison is more about a streaming service not putting movies out theatrically.

Doug Liman’s roadhouse movie was made by Amazon, but I can see how John messed that up considering both Amazon and Apple start with an A.

John is wrong about the car analogy Christopher Nolan put in his contract that Oppenheimer must have a 100 day theatrical release. Its possible to have directors put theatrical release in their contract. Even Scarlett Johansson made the studios pay given she was promised a theatrical release.

Roud House was made by Amazon, not Apple, so as far as I know Watts is the first A level creative complaining about Apple. Coda director was very positive and others like Scorsese have not said anything negative about them... Wonder what really happened in this case.

You misunderstood the situation a little bit. Watts was hired to do a sequel. He took their money and agreed. He just asked that they not announce it yet. When they did, he returned the money for the sequel and walked away.

Idk why streaming services doesn’t want to make money from theaters. That would help their services for years and years. Theaters are so profitable 💯

Could be that Apple had no faith in the movie so they just brought it to streaming, yall did make a commitment though so his point still stands regardless.

I would have watched wolves if it was released in theaters. To me if if they had the confidence in the movie it would have been in theaters. I hardly watch movies made for a streaming service it like direct to DVD/video movies. I didn't even watch the newest roadhouse movie. The only streaming movie I watched in the last 2 years was the sequel to glass onion. Only reason for that is I couldn't watch it in the theater as it was playing too far for me. I know I might miss some movies that are good but majority I don't think is worth it.

Apple has stringent budgets; if something isn't working or they are spending too much money, they cut it. There is a reason Apple always has good numbers. Cook doesn't play games with Apple's money; he tries not to waste money.

How do you know a PR person is lying, the lips are moving.
Information manipulation is literally a description of the work.
But suppose they lie "outward", not informing people you work with that your lying to consumers ... do you really do that all the time?
