For what it’s worth… Not sure this is the best way to do this. The sheet metal on these trucks is thin. If you are rolling this thing over on it’s side, you are risking that whole bedside folding, especially the lower parts. Just be careful, that’s all.
I have done both before, if I were to do it again, I would pull the bed. More specifically I would take the bolts out (don’t forget the fuel neck bolts) and then tilt the bed up on the one side and block it and then I would change the sending unit out. If you need a new sending unit I have one for sale just reply back and I can get you my email. Let me know if there’s any other questions you have!
Good info. I’ve got a dually with 5th wheel hook ups, and I’ll be taking mine off soon
Awesome. Best of luck with it! Thanks for the support!
Differently the best video I've seen on it
You are my new favorite subscriber! Thank you sir
Good video straight to the point
Thank you sir
May have to change out fuel pump and am opting for just removing the bed.
Was rear ended by a BMW last year and need to realign the bed anyway.
Thanks man, needed this as mine is so rusty I couldn't even see where the bolts were lol
Any tips on how you lifted the bed off? Did you do it solo?
I’ve got a 5th wheel set up in the bed, along with access to a forklift
Hopefully I can hoist mine off hooking it up this way
@@allenbeasley5028 Just found another vid of a guy who used a strap and an engine crane... worked great!
@@aaron71 yeah just used man power. 3-4 guys can easily take it off. Done it dozens of times that way but the hoist option sounds good too!

My fuel gauge is not accurate until i get to 3/4 to 1/2 a tank. Believe it is the unit in the fuel tank. Would you drop the tank or pull the bed ?

@@keeprtuned Thanks, I may end up contacting you. Is it a new unit?
It’s straight out of a 93 cummins
@@keeprtunedyou still have
Yes
Did you use a hoist of some kind or did you muscle it off?
Muscled it off 💪🏽
