    Hi guys another gem love the name. The accommodation was spotless and the stoop at the front of the house cherry on top!!!to be able to sit and have a lion large looking at the autumnal colours of the trees and the majestic mountains. Love the banter about the beer ( they don't sell 6 packs in the UK only 4 so I get 2 packs my wife says that's my couple of beers lol😅) interesting history and well done with the detective work sorting out the dates of the church. Love night drive lamp posts and what a amazing county lodge hotel it had a older gentile vibe with the photos of the past and thanks for the Afrikaans lesson reading the quotes on the table cloth the last one about gravel could have been written for you two glad you saw the name boards at the station. What a lovely place to retire to .with all those pears it's a wonder they don't make PERRY It's like cider but with pears .amazing video thanks for taking me along cheerio till the next one

    On my Windhoek to Cape travels (and vice versa), I always wanted to stop here and in Ceres, yet never took the time. You've discovered it for me. I've had countless juices from that region. The light is incredible. The best, lekker!

    Great episode on Hamlet! I really appreciated the colourful leaves on the trees! If you packed the boot full of lemons, you could have made a boatload of hummus at home!

    Hello 'G'day" from Queensland, Australia!
    I'm just loving your travels and the information you provide, especially the history.
    It usually takes me twice as long to watch because I follow using Google Earth to get a better understanding of the landscape, and what a spectacular landscape South Africa has.
    Wishing you all the best in your future travels.

    I am from Hamlet.....hmmm....sounds rather Shakespearean! At least it's not Omelet, which would be decidedly eggy. Delightful place. Beautiful autumn colours, those trees are so stunning.

    Good to see you guys again, enjoying to travel with you in and about our beautiful country. Could I ask you a favour please... would it be possible to also see if the various towns still have airfields that are operational. This could also be an indication as to how well such a town is doing economically. Keep up the good work and stay awesome!

      @DustBugsTravel  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Thank you, I'm glad you enjoy our videos. 🚙😊 We'll certainly mention it if we happen to spot an airfield, but we don't see them that often. 🛩

    The architecture of the Church in Port Alfred's Hamlet must have been designed by the same architect as the St Charles Catholic Church in Victory Park, Johannesburg. It is affectionately known as the Lemon Squeezer. It has the same lines as the Dutch Reformed Church.

    It's a pity that the rail line is no longer in use. But there is still a glimmer of hope that the turning triangle will see a locomotive again, since the rails have not been lifted. A beautiful clean town. Something the residents can be proud of.

    Sent you an email. Did you notice at the station was a turning triangle for the locomotives to turn around? Sometimes ago there was talk of a train running to the hamlet for the fruit farmers - I'm not sure that happened but my friends and I went to check the line for this purpose some years ago.

    • @Galactic-Jack1978
      @Galactic-Jack1978 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Ah, nevermind I hadn't gotten to the point where you explained the triangle.

      Emails are up to about 150 a day now, but I will respond in due course. 📧 It's very clear that trains haven't run there in quite some time, which is always sad to us. 🚉🛤️

      That road looks longer to me on the map. It realy doesn't matter what road we take, we'll never take the chequered flag. We're cool with that! 🚙🏁
