      I had heard, (I can’t remember the source, I believe it was another former Marine who basically said everything that Marcus said about lawyers, writers being given to him by the Navy.
      The only thing to add to that is was this: He was given a choice. He could either take the hero story and be used as a recruiting tool. The other option was to have him tried in court for abandoning the team to save himself. It was in the best interest for everyone if he took the first option, so he did.
      I just wish I could remember the source.
      I heard this about a decade ago. But up until today, this is the first time I’ve heard him talk about the lawyers and writers being provided by the Navy.

      It wasn't a failure to the government. They set those guys up to keep emotional support for the war going on in the US. Those guys went in without mass casualty producing weapons, proper radio/communication equipment and no spectre or warthog support. They had just came out of Iraq and were given this mission when there were plenty of SOF teams already in country that were more familiar with the terrain.

      Written like a true game boy player you've never served. This mission was supposed to go to the Marine corps but due to politics and to get some Glory it went to the seals who failed it abysmally because the Marines wouldn't have done something so stupid. Just do the research they made themselves noticed by flying a helicopter in repelling out and all the bad guys knew exactly where they were it's not like the movie at all they heard the helicopters fly they saw the helicopters cuz and despite trying to fake out the bad guys with the helicopters flying around they knew what was happening then very closely where the seals had repelled out so it wasn't like they humped in 30 km they were dropped off pretty much right there and the stories full of lies lutrell never even fired his weapon he ran he ran away leaving his teammates behind. And describe what mass casualty weapons are did you learn that playing with your game boy

    • @scottbenton5880
      @scottbenton5880 13 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +29

      That's always been the part that made the least sense to me. Once they knew they were compromised, Murphy should have contacted his command to abort and move to their extraction point. There would have been a predetermined extraction point to use if they had to call off the mission for any reason and/or if they lost comms.
      This would have resolved the moral conundrum regarding the goat herders as well. If they were worried that the opposing force was too close or could be warned by the goat herders, they could have detained them during the exfil and released them at the extraction point or just release them and haul ass out of there.
      If it was a hostage rescue or a situation in which lives directly depended on them reaching their objective, that would be dramatically different and could possibly justify continuing or even taking out the goat herders to prevent compromise, but this was not that mission. Considering the lives and resources that could have been saved by that one simple decision, it proves that having to abort a mission isn't necessarily a failure, just a delay in the overall objective.

    yeah Lone Survivor was a lie. There's drone footage of Marcus running away and deserting his team in that gunfight.
    When he was rescued, he had all of his ammunition.

    Eric Deming statements are making more sense and have more credibility after seeing this and actually hearing it from Mr. Luttrell. Sometimes you eat the bear and sometimes the bear eats you. It's obvious that someone didn't wanna admit the truth that led to the loss of his teammates. 😓
