Loved the Statlers! Some of the best music ever written and sung by a very dedicated group of guys with a sense of humor. Loved the harmony. Harold Reid Rest in peace. You gave your audience years of good music and laughs.
RIP Harold Reid. The Statler Brothers' Bass singer has died April 24, 2020 at the age of 80 after battling Kidney Disease. He joins fellow statler Brother, Original Tenor Lew DeWitt to sing Duets above his fellow singers.
Classic country is the only country music. This stuff nowadays is a disgrace to us old country boys. Statler brothers was my pappaws fav. We listened to them every sunday heading to church
Colton heibert every generation of music has had people say that. They said it about Johnny Cash and Patsy Cline too.. they weren’t “country” Country music has always been an evolving genre and the Statlers helped shape many of today’s artists. I seriously doubt the Statlers would appreciate you bringing down other artists to raise them up
My grandmother introduced me to these guys and I still remember riding in her PT Cruiser to go bowling and we played this song on CD. Very vivid memories of my childhood.
This song is based on a true story about a 10 year old girl who was at one of their concerts with her dad. She requested a song and after the concert they looked for her and her dad but couldn't find them. Over the years, they hoped they would see her again, but it never happened.
yep...Johnny discovered them and they started touring with him and the Tennessee 3 back in the mid sixties....then they recorded and released their all time number 1 song, "Flowers on the Wall"....later on they performed with Johnny and June in the epic performance at Folsom Prison....their accompinament with Johnny and June on "Peace in the Valley" is classic....afterwards they often appeared on Johnny's TV show on ABC....legends!
*see below After I shook hands with Mr. Fortune, I said I was never going to wash my hands again, but that changed as soon as I went to the rwst room ! Ha! Ha!
One of the best country groups ever.
RIP Harold Reid, you gave the Statlers their warm and tight harmonies.
This was the first song I thought of when I heard the news. God bless him.

Love the Statler Brothers, saw them back in 1976 & 1978, awesome shows, awesome group!👍✌️
Best country vocal group ever. I saw them 3 times in the 1980's at the Indiana State Fair. Still listening to their music in 2023.
This is by far my favorite Statler brothers song their were others but this one was it
This one is a close second for me, I prefer Flowers On The Wall by a slight margin

Colton heibert What's the matter? Don't like city boys with fake southern accents?😂
Agreed. Modern country is missing out on so much. I will forever love the classics, to hell with puke bryan!

The good old song one of best one's.
This song is based on a true story about a 10 year old girl who was at one of their concerts with her dad. She requested a song and after the concert they looked for her and her dad but couldn't find them. Over the years, they hoped they would see her again, but it never happened.
What a song, simple and beautiful. Thank you for posting this.
Their best song. RIP Harold.
