  • both of these singers and song writers went on to actively participate in the civil rights movement and struggle first with Martin Luther King and then with others. After the murder of Floyd George at the hands of a police officer, I wonder if this song would still have meaning today for those protesting and those supporting the protests.

I find it offensive honestly to assume this. I feel in all raw honesty that every human this hits home with. That's my argument. We all have a story, and not a one of us got a say in how or what was we got started in this life. All we really have is now. So with this ever draining second, I wish to spread love and peace to all. Asia has shown then world before this is completely possible. Again. We ALL relate on some level of value and our place in the world.

Fuck. You. This country doesn't deny white people their basic right to live. I'm so sick of this shit being so distorted. The Civil Rights Movement wasn't about whites getting THEIR RIGHTS. You already had them. What you did with them was your choice. But the system didn't handicap you on the basis of your race/appearance. Coming here to do this only further shows how little you actually think of those speaking up. So kindly fuck off.

To be fair, BLM does not say that black lives are the only lives that matter, simply that they believe, given the status quo, that black individuals are not being treated like white individuals. It is not an effort to denigrate the status of white individuals. While all lives do matter, you can't push for that when certain lives are being treated as if they don't.
