    Blender 3.5 is officially released! I made this piece in Blender 3.4 and the process is a bit different, so at 16:46 I explain how you can use the same method in Blender 3.5

    I learn so much from your videos. You are one of the few people that I see really focused on doing artistic style with GP. Very inventive! I am wanting to try to make a "thick paint" brush based on your tutorial.

    Always fascinating to see how Grease Pencil is used by 2D artists, even though I can't draw for peanuts :P Incidentally, Sophie, in Blender if you go File > External Data, you can either pack resources manually or set Blender to automatically pack them for you. Doing this will have Blender store all your externally loaded brush images inside itself, so that you don't have to worry about lugging an additional folder for your images around whenever you move files (or the file paths breaking) :)

      So I do use that feature, I have resources set to pack automatically, but for some reason brush cover images don't count! Since making this video I realized that I could change the file paths to "absolute" instead of "relative" (this setting is in the same dropdown as the external data), and that helps Blender to always find the files (provided I don't move the cover images within my files)
      But I appreciate the suggestion, and I'm glad that seeing my process is interesting :)

      @@SophieJantak Oh really! How strange. And somewhat frustrating, no doubt :P But at least you found a workaround of sorts :)

    If you're doing character animation, can you texture a 3d character using this style of Grease Pencil?

    Hello Sophie, your drawing skills are amazing.
    Can you please recommend any study material for animal anatomy?

    • @SophieJantak
      @SophieJantak  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! My favourite book has been Animal Anatomy for Artists by Eliot Goldfinger (if you google search for it, there is actually a free download of this book online!). I also followed an online course on Creature Anatomy taught by Terryl Whitlatch via Schoolism, which was excellent.
      For even more resources to check out, I can recommend this patreon post by Brynn Metheney, who is a creature designer (the post is public, so you don't have to be a patron to access it) www.patreon.com/posts/books-i-like-to-46670351

    Hi love your videos and your style is inspiring! I got a BFA in traditional oil painting and this process is exciting. I bought a few of your brush packs on Gumroad and the strokes are solid when I try to draw with them. The textures don't work. Your sample files display as they should but I try to use brushes in the sample file and it's still solid. What am I doing wrong? Using Blender 3.5.1

      Hi Gavin, thank you for your support. That sounds frustrating. Could you email me at sophiejantak@gmail.com with photos of your screen? It's hard for me to know what's going on just based on your description, but I'd love to help

    Too bad grease pencil hasn´t a "build up" brush like this build in. I kinda hate switching softwares but for the love of god, i just cannot sketch in blender.
