Purchased: August 2022 - still works GREAT! th-cam.com/users/postUgkxxsUnXhGsSJLim_XnMHyQK0u3XVaW-CGn I live in a studio and during the summer it gets scorching hot - really old building with no ac units. I can’t express how EASY it was to install. This unit has been a life savior during the summer and some days during other seasons where it can still be a bit warm at night. In this small place is my friend, a husky, poodle mix and myself. We need AC - lolI don’t use the dehumidifier option - I’m not sure if it will leak in my house, since I did not install the small draining hose that came with it. May look into it late but I don’t worry about much humidity in the apartment.I don’t understand why the negative reviews since all things mentioned, I personally did not find issues with. Definitely worth it!

definitely a neat product, but at at $1500 for the AC alone and $2300 when you add on the battery, I don't see this being much more than a trendy lifestyle product to appeal to the van-lifer/overlander influencer type. Totally unattainable to the average consumer.

I’ve been looking at portable AC units and nothing like this is out there. If it costs $1200 as an early bird, I’m certain it will definitely be out of reach for the avg consumer by the time Home Depot and lowes get ahold of it.

I bought one for car camping, got it in a bundle with the delta max and then I bought an extra smart battery. Expensive? Yes very, but worth it to me. What people fail to see with this product is running it from dc power which is way more efficient. I can run this all night in 98 degree heat. It only takes 2 hours to recharge my batteries with a generator or shore power. If I added solar I could dual charge. So running this off of a battery overnight vs running a generator over night is the biggest plus. It cools my car very well. Money well spent in my book. It’s not just limited to this application, I can put in in my rv, tent, small room in the house ect. Next I am going to buy the smart generator. I’m well pleased with my purchase.

I live in the northern country in Europa in Estonia. Just bought Ecoflow Delta Max and smart generator, and did some tests, plugged in water pump, freezer and some other devices and the system worked very well. I can run my house with 4 liter of petrol ca. 24 hours, for heating I use wooden furnace, wood comes from my own property. I can live off grid some months. Although petrol price here is ca. 2 usd per liter, but at least in the emergency time it is possible to survive. But it is must to have some petrol in storage

I live full time in my RV (a 32' Winnebago Brave) on my land in the high desert of southern Arizona - to run the RV generator will burn 1/2 a gallon of gas an hour - I don't have the type of windows that would allow me to use a window a/c or I would, so I opted to getting a portable a/c on rollers 8000 Btu ($280) and park between the 2 front seats and a 2500 watt suitcase style generator on sale at Walmart for ($380) and ran the hoses out the passenger side slider window. The generator burns 1 gallon of fuel for almost 5.5 hours and runs my portable a/c with no problems. I set it up outside using a heavy duty extension cord. I am usually outside in the morning doing chores or running errands. By about 3 pm is the hottest part of the day and that is when I am finished with my day. I put a gallon of gas in the generator and turn on the a/c and it will run till about 8:15 / 8:30 leaving me nice and cool. When the gas runs out around 8:30 is when it starts to cool down outside and that's when I turn on my fans for the rest of the night and run off my batteries. The bad part, this portable a/c pretty much only cools down the living room and kitchen area of the RV. My bedroom is in the back which is blocked by the walls to the bathroom. If it could cool my bedroom also it would be perfect. For me this is my best solution to get a/c and stay cool for the summer. With me being retired on a fixed income there is no way I would spend $1500 to $4000 for this tiny unit and batteries. For under $700 I have a generator I can use all the time to run anything I need including tools and a top notch portable a/c that keeps me cool during the hottest parts of the day.

I honestly would hesitate to believe this unit is a good buy either (though I wouldn't go as far as to say it's a scam). It is a 4000 BTU portable compressor AC for $1200. You can easily get portable ACs with double the BTUs for a third of the price. The only extra features seem to be the ability to add on a battery (for an extra $600), and that it is more portable in certain dimensions - it is about 23% smaller in overall volume compared to the random 4kBTU portable AC I found, but 34% larger in length where most portable ACs have a small footprint but are tall. It is also about 17% lighter. So if you need that particular form factor and the 17% difference in weight is important, it could be worth and extra $800?
I wish the video went into more detail about what sets this apart from any other portable AC aside from those fairly minor differences, if there is anything. I suppose the ability to seamlessly attach a battery is nice, but not $800 + $600 nice.

I did a similar install in my minivan last year, GEs smallest portable at 5000/7000 btu and I did convert it to dual hose operation (the only way to run a portable, its criminal they even sell single hose units!) by attaching a flange and hose to the coil air intake. I purposely selected a unit that has the intake on one side and isolated from other air. It vents out the rear side sliding door window through a bezel that seals tight. The exhaust hose is sleeved with rigid aluminum duct to keep its heat from radiating in the space.
Dont know what your ac brand is but IMO your power draw figures are optimistically low. I tested no less than 4 of the smallest portable ac units Ive collected in the last 2 years through a kill o watt meter, the least hungry draws about 6 amps at full cooling operation or about 700 watts, the rest closer to 800 and of course a lot more during start up.
I dont see a lot of potential for this eco wave thing its unique only in its power supply and I have 560ah of lifepo4, a 2000watt inverter and 2 solar panels as well as a predator 2k genny so Im good there.
It also looks like its not really set up to evacuate the heat it generates from the space youre cooling. Maybe thats a hose connection on the back but they show a hose connection on the front, like youd leave it outside and blow cold air in. So youre supposed to just park this $2k+ felon magnet outside your tent in a campground, outside your van, outside your bedroom window... Guess we just have to wait for the five finger discounters to list them half off on craigslist and offerup?
Dont know what you use for batteries but if its lead acid of any kind ditch em and move up to lithium. Theyre cheaper in the long run and you get back all the energy you put in. Half the weight too.

Yeah. Its kind of bulky, and to be truthful you can get a 6000 btu window u it that is 16 in wide, by 12 in high, and 13 in deep for under $225 and only weighs 40 pounds and cranks out way colder air than this expensive thing. My Midea 6000 btu window unit blows a whopping 43 degrees on an 85 degree day, and can cool my room to 62 degrees on an 85 degree day. There are plenty of videos on how to build in a small window unit in a camper, van or tent.

For anyone who doesn't know this type of ac is called a heat pump. It functions by sucking heat energy out of the room and expelling the heat energy outside. That why you need to vent the ac outside or you are just sucking heat out of the room and then pushing it back in. Fun fact if you add a component( Don't remember what) that reverses the flow of the refrigerant then the ac can also function as a heater as well. But I don't think it would work well with portable units.

    • @rondaxen88

4,000 btu is enough to keep family cool if they congregate into one room in case of brownout/blackout conditions. In Vegas' 110 degree heat, we would die without it, just need the battery to charge outside in the sun while the AC unit is working on the inside.

no, that would defy the law of physics. Air conditioning works removing heat from the room and putting it somewhere else, which is outside. If don't have a vent outside you're just generating more heat by running an AC.
