You are awesome man. watching your tutorials for me is like listening to a great music :-D it makes my brain work differently. your voice, your tone of speaking, your methods of teaching, all of them are so professional and it make me feel I'm watching a commercial website for education not TH-cam :D. thank you so much for your efforts and for your time. I can see people ask you for more tutorial for other fields like flyers and etc and you answer comments nicely. I'm a big fan of you and you are my hero :D amazing people like you and creators of inkscape inspires me to use inkscape instead of pirated version of commercial products.
Thanks, Nick, for this valuable tutorial. Not only does this knowledge enable me to get a great FB cover graphic but, using your technique along with the parameters set by the different websites, I can get perfect fits for my cover/banner pics and icons in Etsy and TH-cam. You rock, man!!
Thanks to your valuable tutorials, my Etsy business is becoming much easier. I'm planning to diversify into the printed medium of cards, etc., next year where your tutorials will be even more valuable. I'm sure you don't remember, but as I've shared in the past, I can't have any extraneous paths in my cut files because all paths cut. So, while I can "cheat" in a print media design because I can layer and hide elements, with my cutting files, I have to have a really clean design. That has been a challenge at times. Your imagination and information have transformed my approach to my design work.
That was another awesome tutorial, Nick! I'm going to be using this technique to update my FB page's cover pages. Thank you again for sharing your knowledge!
Alternatively you could convert the images into a patternfill OR group individual images and clip the group. This has the advantage that you can enter the group and move or scale the image while its clipped.
Hey Nick, this tutorial was great as like the rest of your videos. Just had one thing on mind: I had recently used GIMP to make an FB cover with a collage of around 20 mini, say stamp size, photos, and had to make use of grids and scaling and crop tools to achieve the desired result. In such instances where you have to deal with a lot of photographs, which tool would you prefer in terms of ease of making and quality of end product?
Hello Nick, Thanks for the great tutorials as always. I have stumbled upon a pixel issue in this. I have followed the pixel height and width you instructed, but I still ended up with white bars at the bottom when I uploaded the PNG image to facebook. I did everything all over again but still faced the similar issue. Please suggest how can I resolve this. Thanks in advance!
hello nick im trying many times to get the black theme but nothing happens i have win10 and i work with the latest version of inkscape. pls can you help me rgds guido
hi nick! I watched the entire video including the ad haha my question is what is the best quality export? to avoid decompression when uploading? do you have video for this or are you gonna make one? 😁⚡ The videos you made are entirely helpful
Facebook always compresses images when you upload them, it's frustrating. What I like to do is render the design at 2x the size and use jog format. That seems to produce the best results last time I used Facebook.
Nick, Another great video... Question? So once the img's/jpg are added/clip > set ... at this point do they become vector images? i.e. will they scale up without distortion?
I can't look away from your black indicator icons, I don't know why you changed to this theme but it's triggering me! :D It was okay until a few videos ago.
Ohhh right! Yeah that happened after a system update not too long ago. I thought all of those functions were broke or disabled or something when I first saw it. Apparently the creator of the Numix Circle icon pack updated them.
Thanks for all tutorials. :-) . Crazy, , after clip set, in 0.91r/linuxmint18, the picture-frame do not fit to the black rectangle. I saw the frame outside from the rectangle from the picture Iwant to clip and after that it is no way to center on horizontal axis ..... it take for that the original picture size. Do not know how I can search for result, maybe other users can help me. Sample i682.photobucket.com/albums/vv183/sps31/vpn18_zps1neva8wi.png
thx for answer. In 07:12 I got the black box filled with the town ;) but the frame (like the -------) dos not fit to the black rectangle, please lock at my sample. I have empty space around the black rectangle. Same for all other clip set objects. Sample plus.google.com/104856260066385616789/posts/Rb7nM61ip1e . Thanks again for your 1st-class-tutorials :-)

This is a great one. How about a snowflake for winter. I think I've figured out a way, but I'd like to see your take on making them.
I'll see if I can do anything interesting with that. Thanks for the suggestion!
Nick, you showed me another usage of inkscape :D :D

Just replicated this design. Thank you. Do you have more, recent ones?
Magnificent. Thanks a lot Nick! Appreciate it.

True. Informative feedback, as always.

Unfortunately no, they remain rasterized
thanks

in clipping another image, the blue part is gone when i make them union. help please?
Thank you for your wark!
Where can I get photos for San Francisco so I can do one for my home town?
I'm not sure. I would try searching on Pixabay. You could also do a Google Images search, and set the search options to "labeled for reuse"
I can't look away from your black indicator icons, I don't know why you changed to this theme but it's triggering me! :D It was okay until a few videos ago.
lol you mean the keystroke indicator? I'm not sure if I actually changed that myself. It might've happened after a system update or something.
No, the icons in the top right of the screen, next to the clock are dark on a dark background :)
Ohhh right! Yeah that happened after a system update not too long ago. I thought all of those functions were broke or disabled or something when I first saw it. Apparently the creator of the Numix Circle icon pack updated them.
Nah, it just looks like your Numix-circle theme switched to Numix-circle-light
taught well
very helpful
Thumbs up for helping us mac users out. Lol

It looks like you may have the wrong objects selected. Make sure you have the black (or red) box and the photo both selected.
