Hello friends, As promised here's is the tutorial on how to do marble technique with acrylic paint. I hope you enjoy the video. Make sure you like comment and share. 😊 Thanks for watching!
I saw part of this video when you first posted it and today I did a search for marbled polymer clay and I was shocked. There’s a million new creators doing this exact technique with very slight differences! I always love watching you create but I am overwhelmed by all the *inspired* recreators. Thank you again for the wide variety of polymer clay methods!
I love your tutorials, I’ve been following you for a while. I’m planning to start my own polymer clay jewelry business soon and your videos have helped me a lot!
I let it dry for about 20-30mins. I think certain paints dry faster and certain paints dry slower. If you are in a hurry, leave it in the freezer for 10mins 😊
Amazing videos . I’m just wondering how you can make sure dust doesn’t stick to clay? No matter how much I clean my table , the dust gets on the clay all the time :/
Oh goodness. I hate it!! Unfortunately the dust and lint is inevitable. 😰Specially with fur babies. I usually use cotton buds and rubbing alcohol to clean up before I bake the clay. You can also use its after you bake. But will need a little bit of elbow grease. You can also use nail polish remover.
Yes!!!! I have finally gotten myself some clay! Will attempt the gold and white that you did before. And give these a go while I am there. I will however have the sand by hand 🙄🤣🤣 thank you so much for an other amazing tutorial. 💝💝💝💝
Yay!!! Lol I hate sanding with a capital H but as long as you have good cutters, you don’t have to worry about sanding a lot. And it’s all my pleasure 🥰
So I think it hugely depends on the paint as well? I've done two separate piles and covered them in paint (acrylic but of two different brands). One of them is OK to work with, the other very sticky. I've put both of them in the freezer too. Twice. First time only for couple of mins which didn't help. Second time was meant to be longer but I completely forgot about them so it was a good couple of hours. And here I am, day 3. Still sticky! Any ideas what can I do?
I would imagine so. Thicker more richer brands tend to take more time. I’d try to use the littlest amount of paint possible. Barely enough to cover the clay bits. You can always go and add more later! Though, I have seen some makers squish and make a log shape when it’s still wet! Depending on your paint, you maybe in luck if you do this. Paint could act as a binding to the clay but it can get messy. Might need lots of sanding. I’m so sorry I couldn’t help you any further. I hope it works out for you. Fingers crossed 🤞
@@FernMitchHandmade Thank you so much. Will try it, maybe throw it all into a bag and squeeze it into a ball or a log then try to work with it and see what happens.
Thank you so much for your awesome videos - you were my inspiration to start making polymer earrings and I love your content 😍!! I have just started a few weeks ago and I’m wondering: do you varnish also the back sides of your pieces? I wasn’t sure if it’s unnecessary to do so because it takes another day for the pieces to be done!
Liquid clay helps the pieces to bond back together. I have seen couple of other makers simply squish the pieces very tightly and it seems to work fine too.
Without liquid clay, it will be hard to bond it back together. But you can try bonding it while the paint it’s wet. I’m not sure if the pieces will hold though. Good luck!
When i paint my white clay with black paint,i let it dry the all night and still didn’t dry ,it seems it’s humid in here,it’s gonna be the third time I try.It can be frustrating when you are new in this, but i want to thank for showing us this technique.
Hey! I like this so much, thanks for sharing! I’ve tried making the black marbled! Just a question: do you use warm or cold water for the sanding? Do you start with 800 or 8000 for sanding? Thanks 😊
How long do you let the paint dry and the liquid clay dry before molding and freezing and cutting? My pint feels completely dry and when I add the liquid clay it just smears everywhere. even after freezing it, it smears and ruins the slab..
The trick is to use the tiniest bit of paint that is just enough to cover the pieces. Also, add your liquid clay after the paint is dried. If all else fails I’d try a different brand of paint that is a little thicker. If it smears all of the slab work through it and cut the pieces. After they are baked give a good sand on the surface using 600grit gradually going up to at least 2000grit. This will remove all the excess paint and only show the paint that settles in between cracks. Good luck 🥰 I hope this helps.
Hi! I discovered you someone in the explore page and fell in love with you videos! You’re so talented! I do have a question on what kind of non-stick sheet or cookie sheet you’re using? What brand? Also, do you use a regular manual nail drill to puncture a hole through the piece after the oven process or is it a fancy drill that you get somewhere expensive?
Aw welcome 🥰 it’s so good to have you here. The work space on working on is a ceramic tile that I got from my local hardware shop for couple of bucks. Lowe’s and Home Depot carry tons of them. I bake right on it too but I lay a piece of printer paper on the tile and put my pieces on top them. I am looking to get a manual small hand drill from amazon since it drills holes much smaller than my current nail drill. It’s very inexpensive. For my taste now it creates holes that are little bigger. But a hand drill after bake will do the trick 😊 I hope I answered all your questions. Thank you for watching
Hi, Thank you so much for your videos. I have few questions: 1)I see both of the clay shopping links in description, the product is unavailable. Do you recommend Sculpey 111 variety for polymer clay jewelry? 2)when to use acrylic paint ? Before or after baking? 3) can I make hole before baking?( I dont have drilling machine)
Thejasri V your are very welcome. 🥰 to answer your questions, 1. Due to the pandemic there is a clay shortage but they announced that they are running in full capacity now. I don’t recommend sculpey iii because it’s very brittle. If you cannot find Premo or soufflé you can look in to Fimo 2. Before baking 3. Absolutely! I like to do it after since it’s much neater. A small manual hand drill would do just fine.
Thanks for the video! I've tried doing this and let the paint set over night theb used some liquid clay to help it adhere back together like you. But when I roll it out, there's always streaks of liquid clay or paint that ruins the clean lines of the slab. Do you have any tips how to fix this?
This is why surface sanding is necessary for this technique. All the imperfections can be fixed by wet sanding. Try leaving your roll in the freezer for about 10-20mins and then cut it. I hope this helps 😊
It’s important if you do not want the paint to fade and keep the same effect a long time. Mail polish isn’t recommended, however if it’s gel polish cured with a UV lap it might work. Good luck!
Thanks for sharing, but I have a question, will it be bent or hard after baking? I always follow the baking time instructions, but I never can get the hard one
My absolute pleasure 😊 Depends on what your thickness is. Usually the thinner you go the easier it will be to bend without breaking. Thicker pieces will have less flexible but still won’t be rock solid.
Hey I’ve decided to try this after watching your video. I’ve made 2 batches and they all break at the cracks of white paint...do you have any tips? I know for sure I’m doing everything right
Oh no. I’m sorry to hear this ☹️ make sure your paint completely dry before forming the pieces to a log shape. Also make sure your coat the pieces well with liquid clay. When forming the log push the bits very well. So they condition and stick to each other. Before you cut the log, freeze it for about 10-15mins. If you still have trouble. Arrange the cut squares on a sheet of clay and then smooth it. I hope these steps will help you out!
Saw an argument on fb about this technique. Pls it left me confused. Do you condition your clay before chopping it up? Some say yes others say no. It will break if not conditioned first🤔
Help! My slices crack when I try to roll it out even if there is clay underneath them. They also crack when I try to apply them to things like beads. What am I doing wrong?
I really love this technique 😍 unfortunately when I try it my acryllic paint never fully dries and stays tacky. Do you have any advice on how to solve this?

How much time and at what temperature should we bake in microwave?
Can i use bakeable clay adhesive as substitute for the liquid clay? Very nice earrings as well! Thank you for this tutorial!❤️
Yes. But it will a little harder to work with since it’s a little thick! I would try it on a small scrap piece. Thank you so much for watching 🥰
Can i use clay glue instesd of liquid clay
Bake n bond is a little thicker than liquid clay but I’m guess you can add a little bit and try small scale
Do you have to use liquid clay to bond the pieces or can you skip that part?
Liquid clay helps the pieces to bond back together. I have seen couple of other makers simply squish the pieces very tightly and it seems to work fine too.
@@FernMitchHandmade do i bond it strongly without liquid clay after the acrylic dries or while it’s still wet?
How do you get it to dry properly? I had my fan on it for hours and left it overnight and the paint still was wet when I tried to do the marbling 😭
These are so cute..do you use an actual pasta maker..
Thanks you 🥰 Clay rollers are technically just regular Pasta machines. The popular Atlas 150 and 180 are made for pasta but amazing for clay.
