Ibrahim Maalouf you are a mad genius, and what an excellent audience and group of musicians you guys have in there! I wish I could be in one of your concerts!!!
Best Regards,I Love your music, I m Interested in the name of the first song at this concert it s fantastic.I write my wife s profile-Bojan from Serbia.
How much strength in this creation, lovely

While surfing in TH-cam, I found this masterpiece.....It is amazing how many unknowns are yet to be found, how many jewels are hidden.......It is a joyful experience.
It sucks that bad musicians accomplish fame these days, just shows the toxicity in music administrations globally!
I m listening to Maloof for years already...very emotionally play style..makes me cry especially Beiruth
@@Thataussiebattler didn't think it was all that tbh ..musicianship on point though of course
Agree! I just bumped into this as well and love it!
I thought the same
I'm watching this in September, 2020. This video hit me for two reasons.
Seeing the audience amazed by Maalouf's music, enjoying it together, with their loved ones... It made me really want to feel that magic of live music performance and share it with people. I wonder when I can do that again... However, this concert took place just a week after the " Gezi Park" events in Turkey. Some people call it a riot, it's controversial. People were protesting to prevent a historical park from being destroyed in Taksim, İstanbul. Then, this movement spread to other big cities, Ankara, İzmir etc.
I know Maalouf wrote "Beirut" to express the sorrow and the pain he felt while walking in the streets of Beirut, caused by the war. This music is about sorrow, pain and maybe fear. I've seen that, the people in the room felt that sorrow in their own way, through their own recent experiences. When I realized that, I felt the need to share my observation here, because I thought the people whom this music touches should know what is underneath those faces, in the hearts of the people in that room.
you are right, this is beauty, we will not let it happen, so it will happen, unity, peace, balance
Thank you for sharing this. I listened to it again after reading your post. It was that much more perfect. Thx again
Thank you for sharing. This is an important context, indeed.
this sounds somewhat like a Paper article.... you should write in the Press Medium! Well done 😇
This music both makes me believe in a better world and despair about the sad state of current affairs.
I saw these guys at Ethnoport festival in Poznan, Poland, I think around 2015, that was one of the best musical experiences of my life, life-changing.
never heard this guy - or his band - before and I gotta say I'm blown away! What an amazing concert, and so obviously connected to the hearts, minds, and bodies of the beautiful audience. A reminder of the intense spiritual power of live music as well it's capacity to rock us to the roots...
Same- found him on Spotify few months back pure chance- booked ticket for London for July can’t wait
He is a well known Trumpet player, He even played live with Sting.
He is very well know in France
Agree 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🥳🍻
I heard him long ago in NPR
Thanks to PBS and NPR for great introduction
He played in my hometown Istanbul
Just watched this concert at midnight in the UK. Never heard of this guy but was blown away. Will be checking him out fully and promoting him amongst my jazz buddies. Totally Brilliant!
Just watched this concert at 1.42 a.m. In the london. Same feelings.
Exactly what I am doing atm
I stumbled across this video thanks to a YT suggestion about a month ago. I was so blown away that I ended up traveling to Montreal from Kansas City just to see him live at the Jazz Festival. My wife and I were blown away by him and every musician that shared the stage with him. One of the best concerts we have ever been to. I hope to see him more in North America.
I will know that the world has changed for the better the day this amazing performance is viewed by not 65K people, but 65M people instead.
Holy shit. Where has this been all my life
45:00 This climax is absolutely amazing!
This is one of the most fascinating music videos that I’ve ever seen before. Harmonically and rhythmically, this performance is so complex yet balanced, so it makes you really fell the music itself.

I had two strange experience with listening Maalouf. I was in states and listen his songs and two different times two person came to me to ask what i'm listening so they can listen that too. I had that experience only with him. Masterpiece
This is what COVID-19 has done - take the joy of all these young people. The concert was in June 2013. We are in June 2020 and rarely there is a place in the world to conduct such a lively, intimate concert today. But then we are Humans, we will find ways to enjoy great music of Ibrahim Maalouf and many others.
Found this like a year ago and I can’t stop watching or listening. True musicianship at every instrument.
I don't know - nor do I really care - what "they" call this kind of music, but to me this is the kind of "jazz" that really speaks - mainly, because the SOUND is powerful, percussive, sharp, and clear as opposed to the kind of "smokiness" that I tend to hear in some other forms of jazz. In my ears this sounds like jazz that grew another testicle without even asking if another was needed.
I've listened to it 20+ time... Absolutely fantastic. Fortunate to see his concert in Timisoara in 2021...
1:15:40 "Harmandalı", amazing folk music from Balikesir, Turkey. And thanks a lot Ibrahim, for i hear my nations melodies on Western instrument. ❤️
Thank you brother, I was trying to shazam this song, but it did not work, I finally have found it. I was crying first time I´ve heard it. God bless your wonderful soul, may peace be upon you and yours
@@ibroDirkaful Thanks for amazing comment my brother, greetings from Turkey, and please pray for my country. The recent earthquakes have deeply injured our country.
@@yasinalpcan5135 I do and I will, may God ease your pain and help you go trough it. Take care brother, and thanks one more time ;)
Incredibile musicista e notevole trombettista, fuori dai soliti schemi musicali, complimenti davvero

These guys are like a force of nature. Its crazy.
The bagpipe is like a door to another dimension, even if you are always in a higher dimension when Ibrahim Maalouf is playing his saxophone
Love from Sweden
Wait, what? Did I miss something?
I’ve just remembered Randy Brecker at the time of " Heavy metal be-bop " . . . powerful , wonderful , beautiful , creative and humorous .
Thank you very much !
But , ”Beiruit ” . . . . ,
this version of the tune is the most movable . . . .
Finding this precious gift from the music world took me by surprise coz I was just surfing TH-cam. Just amazing and mesmerizing talent. Born to Cuban roots this music brought back youthful memories.
May you all be blessed.
Whoever engineered the audio is a serious master! What an amazing show!
I am FLOORED by the dimension of this discovery!

This is next level stuff.
It was a super concert. Thanks...

That's AMAZING!!! Thanks a lot for sharing!!!
Brillant ! Merci Ibé ❤
Goosebumps! Beautiful
This is a tremendous performance, truly wonderful. I am so glad to have come across it

Thank you very much for uploading this, finally! I have watched it several times years ago on culturebox after the concert happened, but it disappeared from their website. Now it's back, in full resolution! This concert - music, mucisians, audience captured in this shooting - is veeery special, one of my all-time favourite concerts!
