The Sh Ma Te Actually took some things from Punk and Japanese Visual Kei

I love the ShaMaTe. Their style is sort of tongue-in-cheek, even self-deprecating to a degree, but still cool at the same time. There's something so artistic about it, and I can't really isolate what it is, but it's creative expression in it's truest form for sure. The resilience of the Chinese people in the face of such a repressive government, intense poverty in the rural areas, as well as a repressive culture is really quite remarkable, and the ShaMaTe are symbolic of that resilience and creativity. Viva la ShaMaTe!

this style was similar to scene and only the name is different i can copy this style and giving it a new name but it's still the same shit
y'all late asfk for this trend is y'all living in a cave?

@@obaoba1934 1). Your reading comprehension is obviously below par. I'm not talking about how similar it does or doesn't look, but about the ideology behind it.
2). If your grammar is at the level of "is y'all", I wouldn't be talking about living in caves if I were you. Learn to write first, and then go for the ad hominem if that's the way you think you can win an argument.

@@obaoba1934 lol they live in a country with intense internet censorship, and often these people come from really small, rural towns. It's unlikely they would have been able to know about scene back when it was popular in the US (or even now tbh). It's more likely inspired by K-pop and Japanese visual kei (which shares alot of similarities with scene). Honestly, this sub-culture is the most punk shit i've seen, because they're doing everything their communist government HATES, which takes some major balls. Their taste is objectively bad lmfao, but I respect the hell out of it.

Perhaps back then this was somewhat cool. Having this hairstyles and different color while being thin. Now that's called reprensting the Pride flag or something.

The crux of this is that these people feel like they need others to notice them. That's a sad way to find meaning in your life.

bc the population of a medium sized city in China can be an entire population of a country. it's easy to understand if you live in a world that values collectivism very much
