    Youve given me some tips so heres some for you, when youre hitting the table there is rumble, you can get rid of that by using a high pass filter either on the mic if it has one or in your editing software to cut it out, usually safe to cut everything below 80-100hz, and since your mic is a little further away i would add some low mids to bring back some of the body in your voice, cheers

    Great video. I saw them last year magical to see. I did not think of the 500 rule then. But I live in Norway at 59 degrees north, not sure if there is any stars at all in the bright summer nights. So if there is no stars i guess I can skip the 500 rule?

    Just a question, now that you speak about 500 rule. Look I have a 77D (APSC, so instead of 500; 300) and I made a couple of star trails. Hundreds of pictures then mixed with Star Stax, so I could have timelapses and also star trails, like you said in another video. The thing is that I shooted twice with the same lens (18-55), once pointing Polaris and the other the same degrees up, but south. And the setting for Polaris were 25 seconds at 28mm (so I broke the rule) iso 400 and vertical shooting. For my surprise there were tiny points and no little lines around the stars. So wierd. But the second time I didn't brake the rule; 15 seconds at 18mm facing the south sky with 200 iso with horizontal shooting, and surprise, lines around the stars. Why is that? Help. Is becouse south stars are closer now? XD I don't know dude, this was so wierd.

    Hey mate, love the content recently with these informative/how to style videos! Could you maybe do a small section on how you plan when to go get photos? I use photopills and clear outside apps but never really know when to make the 100% go ahead plan. I’m lucky I can take time off work normally at the drop of a hat, but just wondered how you make your mind up on if it’s worth going or giving it a pass. Cheers!

    Alyn, do you have a bahtinov mask that would fit the samyang 14mm manual lens?

    • @SteveMillerhuntingforfood
      @SteveMillerhuntingforfood 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have this one and it works perfect. The only issue I have with stuff like this, is you need a filter holder, so that is more stuff to pack.
      This mask will give you perfect focus, but I'm finding the more I practice; the better I get at focusing in the dark.

    Last year I was on the hunt for them during two weeks before summer solstice. They finally appeared on June 21st. Beautiful sight. Unfortunately I was attending a festival and had no gear... Also, I was the only guy looking in the opposite direction of the scene during the concert haha. Let's see what this year brings. twitter.com/i/status/1157461438509830144
