Vocationalization of Secondary Education

Besides the mainstream education structures, WIU has “vocationalised” secondary education. Through this initiative, students attain vocational skills alongside secondary education. As a result, the students leave secondary education equipped with entrepreneurial skills that they can put to use. Those that may drop out of school leave with professional qualifications awarded by the Directorate of Industrial Training (DIT). Learners from Pagirinya Secondary School, Adjumani district share how they have benefited from the initiative and their plans for the future.
