Ok, I'll need to visit this place next month while I'm in Vegas on a business trip. I've driven I-15 past this place like 100 plus times and never even knew it was there or what it was. I remember seeing the signs for Valley of Fire but I certainly didn't investigate what it was. Amazing. Thanks for the video.
@@Seracdog I do not dought that based on your video and the State Park website. We have already just made a plan to visit there the second weekend in March. Can't wait.
@@Packsalot What I call Pastel Canyon is a real treat! It's literally just off the highway on the right as you drive towards the main parking lot for the Fire Wave. There is a small area off the side of the ride for one maybe 2 cars. Follow your nose and footprints to the canyon which is just 50 yards from the road. It's about a 3/4 of a mile from the Fire Wave parking area. Have a ball! If you like this area check out Little Finland... I haven't done a public vid for this area but its a gem as well.

@@Packsalot Thank you! I have done hundreds of vids but only post those that are specific to an area. I try and limit the number of "me" and "us" shots and focus more on the hike or area visited.
LOL! Music is always the hardest part of putting a video together. Think of it another way, just think how boring the world would be if we all liked the same things. Have a great trip! It’s one of the best state parks you will find anywhere.

I just wanted to put my 2¢ in so that if you had a lot of people say they didn't like it it would help you or visa versa if more people liked it than the negative then I'm the crazy one lol. I'm looking forward to my trip. Hoping I get a few good photos as I have only about 14 hours to be there. I'll be sleeping in my car while I'm there so I get evening, astro and morning shots.
i am jealous... I love this park. When you are near The Fire Wave, on the other side of the highway is a little visited feature called Crazy Hill. The shots I took of Crazy Hill, for whatever reason, did not turn out so I did not include them. On another visit I created this vid th-cam.com/video/a2bVruLubBw/w-d-xo.html which I initially was not going to throw up on the tube but at the urging of our companions on the hike, I posted it. You migh find this one helpful! Again, I am jealous, I wish I was there!

Everything shown in the video we did in 2/3 of one day! The Fire Wave is about a 2 mile roundtrip hike with little elevation gain/loss and is the "centerpiece" hike in the park. Go for that one!

Driving to the White Domes about 1/2 mile BEFORE the parking area for the FireWave, there is a small area large enough for maybe 2 cars on the right side of the road. Park there and follow your nose for about 75 yards (right side) and you will hit the area featured first in this vid... th-cam.com/video/a2bVruLubBw/w-d-xo.html
Each of the hikes shown, took about an hour. Just depends on how often you stop to take pics, etc. Best to do these hikes in the Spring or Fall in that there is very little shade and the temps in the Summer often hit triple digits.

It's my personal opinion that this is Nevada's most colorful 7 best state park

The interesting coloration and shape of the Fire Wave. You certainly can't go wrong doing the White Dome hike. It's really kind of a coin flip...
