i agree with and repeat a phrase used by a reviewer and voice coach, Christi Bovee, who said " watching and listening to Lara Fabian is a master class in performance perfection"

Very happy to hear you react again to the wonderful Lara . Indeed, the images on the screen are taken from the movie "Mademoiselle Zhivago" (about 51 min) of which Lara is the wonderful actress,( in my opinion, of course). If you can, look at it, it's a beautiful peace of art.You probably know a lot of songs illustrated by this movie:
Toccami, Mademoiselle Hyde, Llora, desperate housewhife, Lou, Ever Land ........
Lara's repertoire is huge, so I hope you still react to her other songs. Thank you very much for your excellent comments.

She studied music in Conservatory of Brussels from age 8 to 18. She always works on her voice. PS Wind instrument is called Armenian duduk

Lara Fabian - Broken Vow (From Lara with Love Concert). Lara Fabian - Caruso. Lara Fabian - Mademoiselle Hyde (Russia - 2016). Johnny et Lara Fabian - Requiem pour aun Fou (1998) (16 million views and deserves more). She is so into the songs. She sings with heart and soul. She is something else!

Fantastic to finally see someone react to this incredible piece of music by Lara & Igor. Lara co-wrote Mademoiselle Zhivago with Krutoy, she is very much involved with the melodies and composition besides all the amazing lyrics she writes. The project is based on the many lives of one woman. It is absolutely phenomenal, and this video is from the official concert at the Kremlin. And for the movie she does all her own stunts and dancing. I highly recommend seeing the movie, it's on YT.

I’ve seen a few other people react to this but I LOVE the way you break it down and analyze it!
Lara is amazing... and this is yet another example of her pure talent and skills. Without any words this song moves me and makes me want to listen to it over and over again.
Mademoiselle Zhivago is her album, where she wrote the lyrics to music that Igor Krutoy composed. It’s an absolute masterpiece... it was written as a sort of movie... 9 (I think?) videos that are all connected and follow one soul through ages and different lives.... Lara stars in the videos and the entire movie is a breathtaking piece of art.
It’s definitely worth watching!!! (Or better yet, react to it! Lol). You get the see Lara as an actress playing all sorts if different roles as well, while enjoying the incredible songs.
Thanks again for another Lara video!!! I really hope there is more to come!

Lara Fabian - Parce que tu pars (Paris, 2001). This woman really really love to sing. She is into all the time. Real artist!
Johnny et Lara Fabian - Requiem pour au fou (1998) (16 mi views on TH-cam). What a performance! She's something else!

If you consider it as a vocal exercise it is also perfect for practising placing perfectly in-tune semitones. Dimash's semitones are slightly overpitched compared to Lara's.

The instrument is duduk or tsiranapogh, a double reed woodwind instrument made of apricot wood originating from Armenia. The sound of the duduk has become known to wider audiences through its use in popular film soundtracks. Starting with Peter Gabriel's score for Martin Scorsese's The Last Temptation of Christ, the duduk's archaic and mournful sound has been employed in a variety of genres to depict such moods. Djivan Gasparyan played the duduk in Gladiator, Syriana, and Blood Diamond, among others. (Wikipedia)

I think it has been said already, but I shall repeat and insist on it: Lara is classically trained, 10 years at Brussels' conservatory, so you see, all the reflexes are acquired, she knows the positions of the body, how to position her mouth to create the sound she wants. To me, on top of being vocally unbeatable, she is the greatest performer on the planet right now. Thank you for your excellent comments!

    Hello, thanks or the explanations
I think Lara Fabian is a nugget, a joy for coaches. Lara allows them to make their students hear and see a multitude of master techniques in 4 minutes of Lara's video. Too bad she is not as publicized as Céline

Being a coach I believe you and your readership will enjoy a super rare video of Johnny Mathis singing LIVE “ Johnny one note” where he sustains ONE NOTE for 98 seconds!!! And with strong vibrato! Worlds longest!
That’s not a misprint. 1:28 seconds. Someone in the comment section said it’s a technique called “ circular” singing. Please check it out privately “ Johnny Mathis one note” it’s super rare and I believe only ONE video!
    Ps:
I forgot to mention another John who was the most underrated pop vocalist of the 1950s and 60s when I was in my 20s ( I’m 76 now). He had a 4 octave vocal range and unique vibrato that was instantly recognizable. He was also Elvis Presley’s favorite ballad vocalist and also one of Johnny Carson’s favorite ( Gary made guest appearances on the Tonight show about 20 times)He passed away in 1998 but left behind a legacy of about 20 RCA Lps .
If you decide to privately react, may I suggest 3 songs-one of which contains what I believe to be the longest sustained PHRASE in recorded Lp history( 13 words and 1:25 in duration) please TH-cam these songs perhaps in this order:
    “ Once Upon A Time” ( Steve Conway’s version 3:01)
( many professional vocalist have performed this song but John Gary’s version is considered the best.
    “ The Sound Of Music”
( thesorrowfulflower version 2:51). John was the FIRST to record this song-before Julie Andrews and it’s ironic but the person who posted this has the background consisting of Julie Andrews and the young German singers.
Also, John Gary’s mother was a professional concert violinist and when John was young she had him vocalize to her violin! You will note that at the end of his song he sustains a long high note and MERGES with the Violin!!!
One more note: John invented an aqualung and with it set an underwater world record of over 2 hours.
“If you love me really love me” This is the one where he sustains the longest Phrase :8 words 1: 25 and it appears at the very end of the song.
    And finally :
“ Granada” ( English lyrics) The FIRST ONE 2:16 and NOT thesorrowflower one which is 2:01 but the sound is speeded up . Most professional vocalists consider this the best pop rendition ever recorded.
By the way My favorite 2 albums of John’s are “ Tenderly” Every song is outstanding and the orchestra is fabulous. And his “ Irish” lp
    Always love,
    Al

I listened to this a couple of days ago, and the instrument, in the beginning, made my brain itch in a way. I know that sound, sounds so familiar, so close to me, as in I feel like I have listened to this a thousand times and I love it, it's just I couldn't place it. Really annoying... The only thing that comes to mind is an image of a freaking red desert. And now listening to this video I just realized. Oh, yeah, I have listened to this many times, the sounds and the song. Gladiator. The road to Zuccabar. Same instrument. We have a similar instrument called kaval, this one has a slightly different sound and shape, and it's middle eastern. I think they call it nay. The other part with Lara's singing, for some reason I feel like it was used somewhere in a movie.. because, once you hear this, it stays.
Other than that, I can only be jealous of these people in the public. Thank the gods for TH-cam...
Edit: Ok, apparently I was wrong about the instrument. :)
