we have dug deeper. in the red clay you won't find prehistoric artifacts, only fossils. the tan clay is so hard, it needs a lot of weather exposure to not be like concrete. doesn't do any good to dig in it like that, all you're going to do is break them.

That's a lovely shot of the deer and the stag Brooksy, I'm sure he was looking straight at you lol. Its wonderful to see you again, and we are having a drought too plus high temperatures, its rather draining and I can understand why you get out early to beat the heat of the day.
Richard was on form finding the points though you weren't far behind him, and you found some with beautiful colours and markings. I think the materials the ancient peoples used were carefully chosen and their skills are something else!!
