That is because perks of a govt job is more. Salary ke saath, masth 2bhk ghar, vacation ghumne ke liye LTC, agar A-group level ka hai toh office Jane ke liye free mai gaadi bhi milta hai.
Plus it's a secure job and fixed time, so that guy won't need to work much hard.

I totally respect his content, but coming from IT Industry I can say that everyone talks about getting a job, but no one talks about the work culture. We need to see, how Europe has good work culture where a person feels safe about their work, whereas in India, when we are young, we are able to take up more work and sit extra long hours for work, but it can't happen when you have family commitments. This is highly ignored part when looking at Govt sector vs Private sector. We need to bring a balance of life:work, in whichever field we are, and be productive in that. Since, the competition is very high in India, even the private sectors will have a threshold of recruitment. It is currently growing like a bubble, like the government jobs did during post-independence (1950s-1990s).

Here's my story! I'm a govt Job aspirant.
I did my 12th in 2018. Started preparing for Navy & Airforce exams
I joined college but couldn't continue my graduation. I had to choose one of the two, My aim or higher degree. I choosed Defence. I worked my ass off studying all day and practicing physical twice a day. I cleared navy physical but failed in medical. Alas! All my efforts were in Vain . My hope of joining Indian armed forces was finished. Finished by the mistake i haven't committed.
It was 2019. Someone told me about SSC exams. I was doubtful about my ability so,, i started preparing for ssc chsl and mts. I thought i could never qualify graduation level exams. So,, i continued my preparation and didn't pursue graduation. While i was preparing, i gained confidence that i can clear graduation level exams . So, i joined open University in 2020.
Meanwhile i failed in mts 2019, chsl 2019 (these exams are 10x more difficult than those defence exams)
Cleared tier 1 exams of chsl 2020 mts 2020 and selection post phase 8 .
It's 2022 I'm still unemployed and grateful for my parents who are letting me study .
I dont know when i will get a job but this has become my only love now.
After my graduation in 2023 I'll prepare for cgl (my love ) i am hoping to get a govt job as soon as possible to support my family .
I have no disrespect for private jobs but the struggle that I'm doing right now,,
When I'll get govt job it'll all be worth it and i can be proud of my whole life for that.
I know it's a really really long and hard way but when we reach out destination after a long determined journey it's worth it in the end.
    What if i fail?
I know i wont fail bcoz nothing can beat hard work
    So,, I'll definitely succeed 😌
Tommorow is my DV for phase 8😃
    Wish me luck guys.
Edit: I'll keep updating if something interesting happens
What else happened in these months:
Ssc mts result came. I got 80.8.(out of 100) Which is poor. It is good enough to clear tier 1 of the exam but not enough to get a job.
So,, another failure in my crown of thorns.
In between these hard times a glimps of hope came.
Phase 9 score card has been announced.
    I got
    146.5 in 10th
And 162 in 12th (out of 200) raw marks. It is good enough to keep my hope alive for this exam.🙂
Sad part is,, the full process will take Atleast another 1 year. So,, long and hopeful waiting 😌
Edit: i did really well in Ssc MTS 2021 as well. I've scored 92.5/100 raw marks and I'm my shift's topper. I did well in CHSL 2021 as well (174)
I just need to pass tier 2 and typing test,,
And my home state govt job will be confirmed 😊

An ROI for UPSC is pretty bad but
you also have SSC, which has higher ROI compared to open field skills bruh
because its a direct hire after exam and there is inflation assisted DA, CGHL and other benefits which can be life saver, also a govt employee can get financially free faster than an average private sector guy by slowly and risk free(lower risk) investment and is capable of fighting inflation better.
But i agree on the fact, that making passion into skills and earn from it, is a thing to get proud of, and it being a new market, has more opportunities but also make sure that this same market is also volatile
so a person has to be dead serious on learning and earning from it, have supportive parents and society... and in future, should be able to manage work and life

Do read this full if you want to do a govt job.
I m doing a govt. job from last 8 years, and It was my biggest mistake. Trust me it was a mistake. My friends who started their job 3-4 years after me are earning more (2 times or sometimes 3 times) than me. And they are living with their families and having enough time for themselves.
    1. There is no flexibility.
    2. You can not take off whenever you need. Specially when you need it for your family time. There is no concept of mental health.
    3. You will have to stick to the process which is being followed from last 10-15 years, even when you can do the same thing in more efficient way. Basically you will have to downgrade your ability to fit in that environment.
    4. Your seniors who don't know about the modern technologies and who have lesser abilities than you, will still be giving you orders and we just can not do anything.
    5. Very less pay.
    Think twice brother /sister
Make yourself capable and do a private job. It take half of the efforts what you put into the govt job.

If you all require constant motivation , you get pumped up by watching TH-cam motivators etc , you won't be able to do anything you wished for. People who are going to be a government officer, IITians, neet and all don't require someone else to tell them what they should and how they should. That are very clear with their motive and they themselves find out their strategies that work for them.
These videos would just make you feel good and you will start imagining as if you already achieved your dreams. That's the illusion of getting motivated by videos thereby drifting you further from your goals. I am not motivating you because why should I ? You all are grown enough to figure it out yourself. Take any skill in college 3 or 4 year. Get a job. Do that job for 2 to 3 year. And then launch a Startup Business on that basis to give job to others. Great Way to Achieve Anything you want in your life. This is a exponential path where Growth is also Exponential and THEN MILEGA BHAI, ITNA MILEGA KI SPNE ME BHI NAHI SOCHA HOGA.......... All The BEST 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

No job is CHOTA......every individual have their own lenses to see through. You need knowledge no matter what job you are doing....pvt jobs offer more packages and it is proportional to working pressure and at a very young age people get jobs in pvt sector.....on the other hand in govt job candidate prepare for years and gather experience.....I have seen comments which are telling that in govt job people are Kamchors.....but can't you see the efforts people are putting in to get through it??? It's better to mind our own business....do what we really want....go through the future consequences and be happy...stop spreading bad talks about both pvt and govt jobs...

The reason our country is like this because we spend half of our time in making fun of others and wondering about what others are doing in their lives. Like dude can't you mind your own business? Let people do what they want to do, who are you to talk shit? 😑

    My Story
    Double dropper JEE
Now pursuing BBA from local college
    Prep. For CAT2023
Give home tutions to 9-12 classes
U know what make it worse, in 2020 attempt I was selected for IIT AIR 11400 but dropped a year for CSE in top 3 NITs,
Won't go deep but before exams covid took my mother, the only one whom I loved and cared for
Had to go to village for traditions, a month wasted then house works and my mental trauma state lead me to not even qualify JEE
    I don't have much words left now...🥲😭🥲🥺😊😊

    I don't understand that
They are also good career options

Cause they are frustrated with their private jobs and they haven't achieved anything in their lives, that's why they don't want others to succeed either. Logo ka kaam hi hai kehna aur dusro ke life me interfere karna.

Comparing the ground realities in Indian private sector and Public employments , in areas like employees welfare, job security , working environment, opportunities access, personal dignity, social prestige, payout, life balance I don't find anything wrong in obsession of government jobs.
Ultimately people earn for healthy , balanced life i.e. work and peace.
It is not a fault of government jobs which is providing.

But if you are just looking for a job then don't waste your time, rather invest time in your skills/strongness.
