Food Sample Making Kit Miso Ramen Noodles

Food sample making kit series 'Sample'n Cooking'. This time, I made Miso Ramen(ramen with miso based soup). The noodles and the other ingredients are made of wax, soup is made of gelatin. This isn't edible, fake food(can not eat). These food samples uses for menu sample by the most of restaurants in Japan. Food samples can carry more detailed information about the menu than simple text menu or photo menu. It's one of Japanese culture. I want to get and show you the techniques of making food samples. I bought it at Ganso Shokuhin Sample-ya, Tokyo Sky Tree Town and it costs about 2800 yen(22.5 USD).

CalisoMoon hmm…they keep their appearance at least a few months but they are sensitive to sunlight, damp and so on;)

Are food samples just for taking menu pictures or do they go on display? It's quite involved. Very interesting though - another good video

BOTH :D many Japanese and Korean restaurants have this little display case where these food samples are displayed to serve as a 3D menu for customers

K Kawaii Angel Susanto is right. We sometimes use butter on top of the miso rame. It makes the soup more tasty;)
