    The best use case for stream delay people dont seem to talk about at all is better quality and less resource heavy
    Because its has longer to render everything

    I activated the caption experimental feature . set it on etc. but where am I see the supposed caption on screen because I dont see a thing. Do we have to activate other things. ? why not show us how it works instead of just the settings ? The other caption options there are as plugins also do not work.

    Hi Danny I was able to most of your videos on OBS and I found them the most detailed and informative videos out on TH-cam. Thank you for making such a wonderful content.
    One question. Is there a way in OBS (not a third party) that help us create a vertical video simultaneously? If there is one it is a God sent and please let us know!!

      Thank you so much! More content is coming soon (hopefully, this month) but I've been working on a side-project, so I've had less time to do TH-cam stuff.
      In OBS you can set the canvas to be a vertical resolution if you like, but that won't allow you to stream and record in both portrait and landscape simultaneously. There are a couple of ways around this though:
      1. Launch up a second instance of OBS, and set the canvas of the second instance to be portrait/landscape as needed
      2. AITUM! Aitum is a fantastic bit of software that has loads of functionality to control OBS in different ways, and they also do a vertical plugin that's absolutely free. I know you say non-third-party, but the plugin is super lightweight and easy to configure, and you don't need the full Aitum software to use it. I have some personal friends who work on it, and I can tell you from experience, both Aitum and their vertical plugin are amazing, and so is the level of support they provide.
      I hope this helps! Once again, thank you for your kind words - more videos coming soon :)

    What font are you using for thumbnails?

      @dannyvalz  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I actually don't know! I have a thumbnail guy who does them for me, but if you take a screenshot of the thumbnail and upload it to a site like What The Font, you should be able to find out :)

    Thank you for this vid! I learned several new things, and I have a question. when using a stream delay, does it help smooth data flow to the streaming service? Example: if my viewers are complaining about buffering/delays, would a stream delay provide a more consistent flow?

    • @dannyvalz
      @dannyvalz  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      To the best of my knowledge, no. The main thing that impacts buffering and the ability (or inability) to send data steadily to the streaming service's servers. A quick way to check this is by dropping the bitrate of your stream in OBS, and seeing if stability improves. It's also worth testing your connection using Twitch's inspector, which you can find with a quick Google search - even if you don't usually stream to Twitch, this is a great way to test your connection, so it's worth setting up an account.

    OBS is free, and that’s what’s great about it, but it is not, a serious broadcast app, no panning of the whole screen, like Xsplit, no real lower thirds, no green screen, not integrated with desktop to share screen like Zoom, it is very slow, unless you have a super fast machine, if Xsplit would be available for Mac, I would switch in an instant.
