Wow this is one of those videos and theories where im early and its actually a pretty interesting catch! Well here's the obvious take: Most likely that character is a random villager that was chosen by gaunter to keep company while he waits for geralt to arrive, and likely wouldve left when geralt enters at gaunters request rather than his own understanding of the situation. The lack of sound for the door being a simple oversight, or since its a cutscene the door wouldve opened in a moment that was cinematically skipped so as to not make the scene boring. Here's the i'm invested in this and there surely must be more to it than it seems take: That guy is an entity similar to gaunter, possibly a demon. It's very likely that the way demons acomplish goals so supernaturally is by helping eachother. Even gaunter can't be in multiple places at once. He recognises geralt and leaves as to not meddle with gaunters affairs. We dont hear the door because he didnt use the door to get out but rather turned to mist or something like that.
Probably just another demon race playing GWENT with ODimm, spending time before the protagonist arrived, and go to his merry way collection his own bounty soul from the greedy human probably a Nilfgaardian Soldier who wanted to be consider "Hero and get his promotion"
