While Movie Park certainly isn’t one of my favorite parks in Europe, I was impressed by their ride lineup. their top 3 coasters and 2 water rides were excellent!
This park is small and expensive. 54.90€ is at least 20€ too much! What looks like stone or metal is very often just painted wood panels… Most of the waiting lines are NOT sun protected…I have witnessed 4 people Blackout in lines in 2 h ! The rides don’t look well maintained and rusty… The Bandit -wooden roller coaster-is a public danger ⚠️ for balls, back and neck! I was there two days ago-08.08.2022
Good point actually. This part of Europe is a bit of a theme park corridor anyway, with not only Phantasia but Efteling, Toverland, Bobbejaanland and Walibi Belgium within driving distance, as well. With all that going on, Movie Park sort of has a hard time standing out. Unless you really like generic Old Hollywood, but stripped of all recognizable Hollywood IP's since Warner left. There's some quality to the ride line up and the theming but nothing really too far north of mediocre.
This actually made me feel better about leaving this park early after having a bad experience, the only thing I wish I had of gotten on was the van helsing bob sled
In this video of top 15 rides at Movie Park Germany, Bandit was placed at number 14, but MP Xpress was not featured on this list. So if I ask you, why?
I don't like that everyone hops on the bandwagon and writes off every SLC just because they might've had a bad experience with one. Not every SLC is the same and not every experience is the same. Someone recently reviewed an SLC in Egypt and said it actually ran quite smooth. Just because the US tends to take piss poor care of their SLCs doesn't mean it applies in other countries. Keep an open mind next time and don't just write something off like that. Half these reviewers just latch on to an opinion another popular coaster reviewer has/had and piggybacks off that instead of thinking for themselves. Similar happened with the Green Lantern ride at Magic Mountain. That ride was ACTUALLY a good ride, and half the people who trashed it had never even BEEN to Los Angeles before, let alone on the ride itself. Y'all gotta stop doing that. Keep an open mind always, especially when venturing out of the country. One being bad doesn't mean they're all bad. In different countries, the standard of care is different from the US. Sometimes for the better, other times for the worst, but you won't know if you don't keep an open mind and try it for yourself.
Really enjoyable video! This is sort of random but do you keep track of how many flat & water rides you’ve been on in the same way you do roller coasters?
Hm... That shows how different oppinions can be 😅 1. Bandit 2. Van helsing 3. Side Kick (before slowing the boost for the 2019 season) 4. Excalibur 5. Time Rider 6. Mp Tour 7. Roxy 4D 8. Transformer 9. Jimmy 10. Area 51 11. Star Trek 12. Lost Temple 13. Splat O Sphere 14. Barnyard (Auto Scooter) 15. Mp Xpress
@@CanobieCoaster Maybe that is because I have ridden it too much. 2019 it was a exciting ride, but after about 700 rides it just rattles and is way too less exciting. BTW: I hate ejector, so thats why Bandit still my no. 1 (even after 1750 rides). Maybe some day the MP will finaly build a nice action packed coaster, but today... If it wasnt my home park it were a one and done for me.
I enjoyed Warner Bros. Movie World Germany how the park used to be called during my Teenager years from 1996 till 2004. They had a Looney Tunes, Batman and Gremlins ride. Movie Park is okay with the Halloween Horror Festival and so on but I wouldn’t pay a visit more than once or twice.
@@CanobieCoaster Warner Bros. Days were the prime years of the park in my opinion. They’ve brought some Warner IP‘s back to the park like the Roadrunner 3-D or Tom and Jerry Movie inside the Roxy Cinema but mostly they have IP‘s from Paramount and Nickelodeon nowadays
@@CanobieCoaster most, but not all. Come on, keep an open mind. You may have been pleasantly surprised. Just because the US doesn't take care of theirs doesn't mean it's the same all around the world. Some parks do take care to maintain their rides better than others.
Give MPXpress the vest restraints and would it make the list? And Bandit may not be as bad as other wooden rides out there but they should still give it the RMC treatment.
I love wooden coasters and I'm very slow to get on any bandwagon saying "RMC this" and "RMC that". But, for the love of all that is good, RMC the Bandit. It's not a coaster, it's a birth control device. (And MP needs a standout ride better than Star Trek. Sorry not sorry.)
This park looks very nice but the collection is lacking. They need more, Star Trek is really good but the gap after that is massive, and thst shouldn't be your only really good ride at a park like this. They already have several family coasters/junior coasters. Then they have Bandit and Mp Express which are the only other big rides there but those are a RCCA and a SLC. They do have 2 good indoor coasters but the rest is really lacing here.
I opened acrophobia at sfog and it was one of several rides I worked out over my two seasons. Sometimes the tilt worked, but wouldn't rotate, or rotate and didn't tilt. Tilt would happen gradually happen ascending, or suddenly at the top lol. Seemed like it could be different every week at times. Couldn't tell you when it finally set into what it's suppose to do lol, but I always felt like the tilt at the top right before the drop was the best.
Hi! If possible, sometime in the next ten years could you please come to Australia? Thank you! Also, if you decide to come, make sure to buy a GoPro head mount or a wrist mount or a chest mount if you don't already own them because there are some AWESOME water parks over here and some of them let you film on the slides!
One thing bugs me. Is it me, or is hardly anthing at Movie Park actually themed to movies? All the actual IP's they have, Star Trek and all the Nickelodeon stuff, that's all television shows. They were gonna theme the SLC to Lucky Luke (not sure if that's still the plan), that's a comic book. Bandit is Generic Wild West, Lost Temple is Generic Dinosaurs, Studio Tour is Generic Movie. Area 51: Generic Aliens. Excalibur: Generic Fantasy. Even Van Helsing, which is theoretically movie-based, ends up just being Generic Horror. The old Warner park had Neverending Story, Gremlins, Burton Batman, Lethal Weapon, Wild Wild West. Not all those movies are great but they are, you know. Movies. At a movie park.
This park is small and expensive. 54.90€ is at least 20€ too much! For example, the Vekoma SLC at Movie Park Germany, was it originally named MP Xpress? Eraser opened there in 2001, and none of the steel coasters in Germany was considered by many people and/or enthusiasts to be painful? What do you think?
Ghost Chasers at Movie Park Germany is a Mack wild mouse. So imagine a list with those Mack wild mouse coasters: Ghost Chasers at Movie Park Germany Speedy Bob at Bobbejaanland Wild Mouse at Hersheypark Ricochet at Carowinds Matterhorn Blitz at Europa Park Apple Zapple at Kings Dominion Technic Coaster at Legoland California Coast Rider at Knott's Berry Farm If you recommend trying to ride all those Mack wild mouse coasters with kids, what would you think?
Love how every recent 'Top Rides at...' video has started with "The SLC will not be appearing on this list" 😂
Deserved.

I think it feels like a budget Universal or Disney.

I also feel that Movie Park would be held in higher regard if it wasn't as close to Phantasialand as it is.
It's quite possible.

Not with the current ones.

It hurts.
Nice vid, but I’ve heard others give Excalibur a fair bit more love than you do.
I like Excalibur as a dark ride, but the water features are poor for a rapids.

Trash
