    Pamuzhi - On the Village
    palubabo - Where people speak behind each other backs
    mama (mom)
    Ami kechi nkayepo ne - I wont go there
    Pavujisha kunenan'gana - There is to much blasting each other, the is too much lies
    Pavujisha miyebe mama - There is too much back-biting
    Pavujisha bubela mama - there is too much lying
    Mabila yooyo - There is always comfusion/comotion
    (Basically the guy is swearing that he won't step his foot in that village)

    Growing up in the early eighties, this was one of the songs on an LP. It would play until the batteries would run low. It would then start playing very slowly. We would get the batteries and put them in the sun to get some power. Later our home was connected to the power grid. Then it would play until I we would dose off after a kind hearted electronics man installed an AC to DC transformer in Dad's old ITT supersonic record player. The music was unconsciously burned into my memory.

      The concept of solar energy was in use without most of us understanding it fully. Great truck 👍

    I left Zambia when i was 6 y years old in 1989 and have never returned again. My father kept telling us that when he worked in Chingola, this was the most controversial band. I listen to them today in honor of my dad. Even so, i just fell in love with their music.

      I know palubabo it’s a village in chief lumpuma lufwanyama district Zambia is saying I won’t go that village there’s too much witch craft.and this song make me remember my friend Sydney chipoya at TBM mining in lufwanyama we use to play it at work.

      Further translation is i will not go to rubabo village,its full of lies "bubera" And they talk to much

    • @jlundofu
      @jlundofu 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@brianchentulo5977 check up. I have the whole meaning explained. Lubabo is more like speaking behind ones back, normally in a negative sense or back biting. Pamuzhi, is a village. It does not refer to a particular village. Its just explaining the type of village,

    never been to Zambia,but this song creates all sorts of imagined visions.I love Zambia

    • @jlundofu
      @jlundofu 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      We have a very different Zambia from the one this music was playing in. The lead singer died and the band disappeared from the scenes.
      Make time, its an infinitely better Zambia than it was, but I think the old musicians were more creative than the current crop.

    pamuzhi means a village.kechi nkayepo means I won't go there. palubabo means lies and back biting.pavujisha means -alot. miyebe means lies and back biting. So, he was saying that he won't go to the village where there is lies and back biting.

    I liked Mulemena boys when I was doing my early primary school days in the early 1980s, but I still play and listen to these songs as if the song was produced in the 21st century. Great guys they were.
