Not all western countries have rampant racism. Corruption and security threats pushed Ukraine politics to the right, made xenophobia acceptable and a useful political tool.
This being said, do make Africa a better place. By holding your own leaders accountable, unlike Russia.

Ukrainians have never been racists or why would they have so many African students there? There are such accidents in every stressful situation/war/conflict. A lot of Ukrainians (white ofc) can't flee the country too. And such "racist" narrative is undermining support of the world. Who benefits? Russia. *Limited Transportation*
There is limited transportation, and the trains are overflowing as it is. The Ukrainians are saying Ukrainians only. Why would they say this, it's for moral. If the news reaches the fighting aged men that their loved ones, women children and elderly etc, did not get out in time, this will likely plummet the fighting mens moral to the point that they will surrender and they will surrender, allowing Russia to take over the country. So the question should be is it wrong to do such a thing, when it could be the difference between the country being taken over or not. I think it's debatable, but personally I think it is the right decision.
      *White Foreigners*
However another question, is, are white foreigners being allowed on trains etc, and non white foreigners aren't. Well the question to that question, is do we have any data proof that this is occuring, I haven't seen any, do you have any ? Can you show any data that per capita, white foreigners are being allowed on trains etc at a higher rate than non white foreigners ? If not, then why are you claiming racism with no actual evidence ? Seems very strange. We need to firstly show that from the same destinations at similar times (As obviously that makes a difference) That white foreigners are being prioritised.
      *Further Investigation*
Then we need to investigate why this could be happening. One factor is the E.U, and that many white foreigners would be a part of the E.U making it easier to gain entry to neighbouring countries. Another reason would be that countries like Poland are taking Ukrainians in, so Ukraine can't stop say Polish people from leaving whilst demanding that Poland take in Ukrainian citizens. Also we have to take into account things like the fact it would be easier for a white foreigner to pass as Ukrainian and sneak onto a train.
      *Accusations without proof*
Without an actual investigation or actual proof, I do believe it is extremely heartless and wrong to accuse a people and nation of being racist, during what must be hell. They need all the support they can get, and this could certainly effect that. So again, before we can understand what is going on, do you have any data proof to show what is actually occuring, a number of peoples claims and a few videos online is not proof.

I’m South African and I’m at a SAn university right now and I can’t imagine going somewhere like Ukraine for tertiary education, it’s a weirdly fascist country like most of Eastern Europe …besides I rate our universities better anyway. What I do know is SA universities themselves take in quite a lot of international students and ends up with some SAns with not so competitive scores having to seek university education & training in fields like medicine abroad eg in Ukraine as medical school entry in SA is super competitive. What’s worse their medical qualifications aren’t recognised here in SA, further exams to be admitted to be a doctor if you qualify in a foreign institution…so many hoops to jump. So my post was talking about my government too. SA needs more universities as it’s said that just over 100 SAn students are in Ukraine, mostly studying medicine …most have found themselves to safety and government is returning them home but my heart goes out to the Black SAns as they will face most risk more than white SAns…I mean I feel for everyone, can’t imagine how traumatising this is for all. As heartless as it sounds, a country has every right to prioritize their own citizens over foreign guests. This discrimination is based more on nationality then racism. @@sandyg4646 I agree that governments and embassies need to organize the evacuation of their citizens, but people have to get out of Ukraine first. I don't think this is completely about prioritizing Africans over Ukrainians, or denying that the Ukrainians are refugees, and don't have a home country to go to. It's about the obvious racism that's happening. That guy literally said: "if you're black, you should walk". I don't think he would have seen a white person from an African country and said "if you're white, you should walk", and he wouldn't necessarily have assumed they were from a country in Africa - thus not nationalism. If, however, the guy had said: "if you're from an African country, you should walk", then that would be discrimination towards people from the African continent, and by saying that, he would have included the white people from an African country. If he had said, "please may all able-bodied and non-urgent foreign national evacuees walk as we are prioritizing urgent Ukrainian refugees at the moment" and by not abusing these foreign nationals - from British to Nigerian to Chinese to US citizens - that would be understandable and fairer.

If you read this, please do not let the words or actions of one person effect how you treat or view another.
Do not let anger create hate and predjudice.
Do not condemn a whole people based on the actions of one, two, a few or even many.
I doubt anywhere in the world is really free from racism, just as with hate, sexism, sterotypes and predjudice. But what has occured here, the actions of one person is just that, it is not evidence that every single person of the same race or from the same country or who will be born in the same country are or will be racist. You cannot possibly know the mind of every person.
The way you behave or think does not mean that all people of your race or from your Country behave the same, just as someone else's despicable behaviour does not have any bearing on how you behave. Imagine being discriminated against because of the racist words or actions of someone else from your family, gender, country or race.
Humans are not born racist. Babies do not come into the world racist, society makes them so.
Our environment and the world around us, both in real life and online influences us whether we like it or not as we grow, but people can also reflect and change and choose to reject and break racist thoughts and behaviour patterns that are subconsciously passed onto them. For what's the point of living if not to constantly be improving.
Do not allow racism to create predjudice.
It is so easy to hate. Do not let hate win.
We need to treat and respect each other as individuals without judgement and preconceived notions before we know each other, despite what country we come from, or how can we ever have peace or a world free from discrimination now or for future generations.

Nigerians consider themselves superior to the blacks in America, but as you can clearly see, when whites see your black skin color, they don't care about your self-proclaimed superiority, or your native country. When these racist whites see your black skin they see an inferior human being whether you are from Ghana, America or Nigeria. Racism is painful Nigerians isn't it? So why be racist towards African Americans when you KNOW the pain of racism? When you perpetuate an arrogant separatist attitude towards blacks in America it's hard to feel compassion in times like this, although I can still empathize. Why is it OKAY for Nigerians to be racist, but it's TRAUMATIZING when someone is racist towards them? NO one talks about it in the media because let's face it, the media doesn't care about Africans in the U.S. but I find the hypocrisy astonishing.

This is a time of war, people aren’t leaving to escape poverty or any other trivial matter in contrast, people are fleeing because they want to stay alive, because they want to preserve whatever’s left of a reasonably looking future, because they don’t want to die! Everyone, whether citizens or not have the same right to leave as the other, and you tell this young lady, an economically contributing international student, one that pays significant fees and contributes just as much to your economy, that she must let Ukrainian citizens, a country with 42 million, go first and to walk.
Telling her to do that is a sick and twisted way of telling her to wait for her eventual demise or failure to leave. Don’t get on your knees for help then turn around and withhold that help from someone just as deserving as YOU!

From all the testimony of the foreign students that I've gathered, all of them claim that the problem is with the Ukrainian border guards, not the Polish, Hungarian or Romanian border guards. I have not yet heard of any complaints about Polish/Hungarian/Romanian border guards.
You mean the Nigerian government should rent a Ukrainian bus or train during a war? And with that bus gather all Nigerian students wherever scattered they are in Ukraine? Whose contacts they probably don't have. Meet up in random places. And all other 50 countries should do the same? Why not just let them cross?

That's just your assumption, but even if Ukrainian guards are cooperating with the other side, then that's still racism: letting only white people to safety...

TICKET HOME? They're not back from a holiday! Bombs kill foreigners just as they kill Ukrainians. Any non-white person deserves to escape war just like any white person.

I m currently working at the boarder and what the woman here is saying is not correct.
    1. All other countries told their citizens to leave the ukraine DIRECTLY days before the russian invasion started. Germans, french, american, polish etc. all left the country and were often supported by their country. Obviously the nigerian government didn t care about their citizens in ukraine, didn t inform them and didn t provide any help. That is not the problem of the ukranian people or has anything to do with racism....
    2. Is she really suprised that ukranian people have priority? Not WHITE people but UKRANIAN people? Ukranians are simply mostly white. It s their country getting destroyed, their men are dying, their children must seek refuge etc. All foreeigners were WARNED to leave the country BEFORE the war MULTIPLE times due to information provided by the USA/CIA!
    3. Why is she mixing nationality and ethnicity? It has nothing to do with black and white, it s about your citizenship. Ukranian cirizens have priority just like women and children can leave ukraine while men between 18-60 with an ukranian citizenship must stay or does she think this is "sexist" and "racist" towards ukranians as well, because men from other countries can leave the country?
    4. Why do these people have to always make it about themselves and race?? What a shameful person trying to spread even more hate in such hard times for ukraine.
