  • While GM was busy trying to kill the "Super Car", Plymouth proudly introduced the all-new GTX for 1971. This 440 +6 Plymouth GTX is only one of 135 built for the model year. In glorious red with white interior, Air Grabber hood, and power windows, this car is a celebration of speed and luxury; a declaration that the Muscle Car Era would not end quietly. This particular example has been concours rotisserie restored, is 100% numbers matching, build sheet documented and a proud member of the Wellborn Musclecar Museum.
This 1971 Plymouth GTX was very well outfitted with many of the nicer options available, including the 440c.i. Engine and Six Barrel carburetor, bucket seats, woodgrain trim appointments, air grabber hood, red paint, white accent stripe, white top, and white interior with power windows! The GTX is slightly heavier than the Road Runner when ordered with all the extra equipment, but was worth it because you're driving something rare and special when you're behind the wheel of a 440-6 GTX!
If you think this car looks familiar, you are probably right. It has been subject of magazine articles, invited to premier displays at Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals, and also featured in the TV series, American Icons: The Muscle Car, hosted by Chip Foose.

I owned this car in the late 80's, are the Dynotuned stickers still on the rear 1/4 windows?
