Garuda Purana, the sacred manuscript of Hindu religion briefs about the life after death of humans. Garuda Purana is believed to be the an exchange of selective information over human’s life, re-birth (reincarnation), human death, funeral rites, life after death and many other corresponding contexts with the Garuda (a kind of bird) by the lord Vishnu. Garuda Purana shed’s light on the concept of heaven and hell which are conceived by most of the people to be same in these modern days of lifestyle. Go through the stated punishments of Garuda Puranas to know what exactly do you deserve based on your karma.
Religious preachings in most of the religions claim that sinners are being punished after death by the almighty. While the Hindu religion Garuda Purana clearly prescribes the deserving punishments by the creator regarding the sins and karma. The Vaishnava Purana manuscript Garuda Purana comprises particulars and information about the life after death, funeral rites and the metaphysics of reincarnation, and therefore is recited as a part Antyesti (Antim Sanskar) or funeral rites (funeral liturgy) in Hinduism. The medium sized Garuda Purana which is categorized as Purana which represents goodness and purity by the Padma Purana comprising nineteen thousand shlokas and 28 punishments for the sinners who commit various inhuman acts during their lifetime.
Brutal punishments which have been listed and mentioned in the Garuda Purana are so barbarous and roughshod that no reader of the Purana would wish to get punished with those penalties of their souls after death. Penalties of the Garuda Purana are described as ‘The Torments of Yama’ as per the conversation of lord Vishnu and Garuda. Here is the list of 28 Garuda Purana Punishments described in the book.
Garuda Purana is the text based on the conversation of Lord Vishnu (Shree Hari) and his vahana Garuda. Garuda asks the Lord about the punishment for bad deeds humans do on earth. Some of them are as follows: the Garuda Purana tells us that the soul goes through hell or heaven before being reborn. It experiences pain or pleasure, respectively, in hell or heaven, before being re-born. It also says that pain and pleasure will be experienced in the next birth based on the deeds of the current birth. One needs to continually be reminded that the Purānas are GUIDES. They contain everything from Atomic theory to Zoology so when asking a question about the verity of something one must be more specific about the subject. The Garuda Purana has its embellishments that need to be viewed by a mind that knows the purpose and limitations describing spiritual phenomena. If you can read it with an open mind and not take any of its pronouncements as final, you should be fine. Of the occult literature, the Garuda Purana is not the most tricky or dangerous, there are way more difficult ones around. You should gather some spiritual courage and read it anyway.
In the modern era, death and its rituals have become so short and convenient, that people come up with every excuse to avoid the practices that allow dignified departure to the body. In order to support and encourage the desirable practice, the Shastra describes incentives and to discourage the negative acts they give deterrents. All the incentives and disincentives are called ARTHAVĀDAs.

എൻ്റെ മുത്തശ്ശി മരിച്ചിട്ട് ഈ ഒക്ടോബറിൽ ഒരു കൊല്ലം ആവും മരണാന്തര ചടങ്ങുകൾ ഞാൻ തന്നെ ചെയ്തു മുമ്പ് ചെയ്തു പരിചയമില്ല എന്നാൽ എങ്ങനെ ചെയ്യണമെന്ന് അറിയുന്നവർ പറഞ്ഞു തന്നു പതിനഞ്ചാം ദിവസം കർമ്മങ്ങൾ ചെയ്തു ഒരു മാസത്തിന് ശേഷം ജ്യോത്സ്യനെ കണ്ട് കർമ്മം ചെയ്യ്തത് ശരിയായോ ആത്മാവിനെ മോക്ഷം കിട്ടിയോ എന്ന് നോക്കി ഈശ്യരാധിനത്താൽ ആത്മാവ് തൃപ്ത്തനായി മോക്ഷം ലഭിച്ചു എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു
