I like Curly's version better, she has made some small changes to the original song to express her understanding of the song, the other girls just sing the song through as normal people does, that's why it immediately stands out which you can see from the impression of judges as well. Personally I think the two highlights are the break point of "跟着你 follow you” and the "爱我的心 love my heart", in terms of both skills and emotions Curly is definitely way above the level of other girls, no wonder after I heard she is studying at Berkley

Yes, those small changes to a song (even tho it’s not something as big as changing the style) is what makes the singer own the song. It’s not just another karaoke version, but their own unique version of the song. They had their flavor to it, and it’s always a delight to hear.

I think international fans really really knows nothing about Chinese Industry. This program is China's #1 survival show. It generates BILLIONS of views and votes. First season got 5 BILLION views. Many talented singers join here to get a career. If you want a career whether as solo artist, actress, variety star etc. you join here. So no even as a HUGE Curley stan who vote for her in literally everything and spend money on her fandom fund raising & money poll for support on Curley, I disagree with you. She is NOT way more talented to be in this program. She NEEDED this program to have a career. She NEEDED Tencent support to get bigger.
Great vocalist like Li Ziting, Aojuan, Zining, Kimberley, Lucia, Angela and many more came from this show. Talented and rising lead actresses now like Liu Renyu, Qiang Dongyue, Yang Chaoyue etc. also came from this show. All rounders like Meiqi, Xuanyi, Sunnee etc. came from this show. And most of all best selling solo female artist of 2019 Meng Meiqi came from this show. She was voted #1 with 185 million votes. Not to mention China's #1 girl group came from this show.
Bottom line please do not same things like too talented for this program or bigger than this program etc. because Cfans actually screenshot Ifans comments and spread it on Weibo which will then give bad reputation to Curley. Trust me in China comments from fans can launch a witch hunt against the celebrity because they have a mentality there that fans represent the artist. Many celeb have been ruined by their own fans words. Even the biggest actor / idol of 2019 aka Xiao Zhan have gotten a massive witch hunt due to his fans actions. He only survives it because he apologized for his fans & took hiatus plus he is a huge establish star. New rising stars would never survive a witch hunt.

@@peachpanda88 i think what the op meant was that she's far more skilled than the rest of the trainees in this show. Since Chuang2020 aired, she's the only one who can match some of previous vocalists from the other seasons (since the most of the trainees this season were newbies or mediocre/average at best...they were far outmatched by the trainees last seasons)
She was #1 in QQ music for days w/ more than 1.5 million streams per day with this song. She have around 35 million streams now. Amazing!
What about Nene
Kritika Sharma Oh I just check Top 10 and she wasn't there but to be fair Nene sang a 2 English songs which is way harder to chart than a Chinese song. Even Curley's Someone You Loved is not charting at Top 10 and only this was one was charting. If I remember correctly Nene did chart Top 15 during 1st week w/ Best Part but drop down after. I think even Chen Zhouxuan's Wuji charted higher since it entered Top 10. IMO this really help them be Top 2 in the official rankings as it being in chart promotes you to non viewers. Nene's fandom is really fighting so hard though. They got her 3rd place for the 1st Elimination only behind Curley & CZX. And they constantly promotes her. Rumor has it that Tencent wanted to create a head to head battle between Nene & Curley's fandoms for the center position like they did with Meiqi & Xuanyi in Season 1.

I feel like she’s really managed to express her personal feelings and understanding of the song in her way of singing. It gives the slightly shy but fluffy feels of a confession written for the first time in a secret diary. The small gaps give a sense of hesitation which make the lyrics feel more imperfectly relatable. as opposed to the happy, sweet and bold but perfectly crafted confession vibes of the other cover.

as someone who loves to sing I would do ANYTHING for a voice like hers. i don't know how to explain it but she has my ideal voice. her voice can sound so deep and powerful and belt out amazing high notes when she wants to do a hype song or power ballad, but in songs like this it turns into this beautiful, soft, heartfelt voice with the absolute sweetest falsettos.
