French is the only latin language that use an "E" on the end of a feminine word, the others languages use an "A" La Lune - La Luna, A Lua, La Lluna But I really like french is very very similar to portuguese my language, Um Beijo e um Abraço :)
Italian does this too with feminine, plural nouns.. "Le donne" = "As mulheres" = "Le femmes" = "Las mujeres" = "The women". I don't know about Romanian.

ceruttigino I think it might be because it does not begin with a vowel? Not entirely sure but I have a hunch. I'm a native Spanish speaker and some of the French rules seem to be similar.
***** Actually I got the answer from another source. There are two types of H in French: h "muet" and H "aspirè". H "muet" behaves like a vowel, so you use apostrophe and make liaison. H "aspirè" behaves like a consonant so no apostophe and no liaison whatsoever. Hongrie is aspirè, but watch out! you never pronounce the h even when is "aspiré".
