omg sameee i went to my mom like “is my draculara doll in the basement? i don’t remember giving it away” and she was like “no u told me to sell it” 🧎🏻♀️i miss her fr she was my favorite
I regret not buying Monster High dolls when they first came out. I was too embarrassed to be into dolls. Now I'm in my 30s and I don't care anymore. I'll buy dolls with no shame!
This might be hyper specific but do you have any advice for dealing with “Value Vultures”? To explain, a lot of people in the online doll community in general will get upset when collectors like myself unbox their dolls. They always seem to justify their harassment along the lines of “taking the doll out of box significantly lowers its value”. I don’t know how to tell these kinds of people that I never plan to sell my collection so it doesn’t matter, it almost feels like some of these people are only in it to make quick money and I fear some of them might be scalpers themselves 😞
Oh I understand you!!!! Personally I always say to those people that I get more joy of taking the doll out of the box (and they are initially created to be taken out of their box) I think everyone should do what makes them feel best and collect however they want to collect! But keep on doing you ghoul!!! Collect in your own way 💕 and yes it does seem like some people only care about the value of the dolls and how much money they can make later. But if that’s how they enjoy their dolls that’s fine, let them be and don’t worry too much! I hope they will understand you too ☺️💕
Aww I’m sorry you deal with that! I feel like, it’s your hobby, it should be no one else’s business. You know? It’s like, we all make different choices of what to put in our coffee, what to wear for the day, how to do our hair etc…It’s another choice that’s about your enjoyment. We all enjoy things in different ways, and if opening your dolls is what you like than that’s all that matters. “I get the most joy out of my dolls when I get to experience them out of the box!” Or something…you know?
My mum's kinda like that when she sees I have a new doll she's like keep it in the box it could be rare it could be worth a lot of money and I'm like I'm not planning on selling them mum. Normally I only keep them in box if I think it displays pretty or I just don't have shelf space so I keep em in box put away.
What's the point of leaving them in the box if you're not going to sell them? I take mine out of their boxes and take good care of the valuable ones. But they're not meant to stay in the box.
When I'm gonna be 17 and have a job, I would start collecting rainbow high dolls, Barbies, Japanese dolls, porcelain dolls, and Blythe dolls! And maybe start collecting miku figure and dolls!
Been collecting 18' dolls for many years. I'm a guy so finding other doll collectors and ones that want to hang out with a guy is a challenge, this video was really helpful thank you. Hope you have a great day!❤
I just got my first monster high voltageous Frankie doll for Christmas. I was so happy. Growing up, I was more into stuff animal teddy bears. I don't even remember if I ever played with a doll. I am an adult now and starting to really like these beautiful dolls. I don't plan on having a huge collection but want a few of them like operetta line, bettlejuice and lydia etc. I didn't realize how many dolls they produced.
I'm a young doll collector 12 turning 13 it's difficult wanting to collect dolls when I get bullied for it saying I'm a baby I'm scared turning a teenager next year people are gonna make fun of me.even my friends ask me why I collect dolls and joke with it they don't understand without dolls I won't be who i am today :(
Sweetie bear, I was a tom boy and hated dolls, I'd rather be climbing trees LOL, then one Christmas, each of us three "middle" girls got one Topper "Dawn and friends" doll, with one outfit. (Family of six kids, very poor) and something just clicked! She was half the size of Barbie and came with a little fold out color brochure of all the cool 60's outfits you could buy (IF you had the money, which we didn't LOL) but later, MUCH later, I got everything I wanted on eBay, and then some (ooak reroots, etc) I guess in my long-winded way, I'm trying to say they bullied me for being a tom boy, when I was your age, they roll their eyes now because I'm an old lady with a big doll collection. Don't make no difference either way. I've always been my best self, my happiest self, being MYSELF. You do you sweetie bear. ❤️🌹
I’m 11 and I want to collect dolls too and people might not understand but i recommend ignoring them bc they just want to you to get mad .And collecting toys or dolls is for anyone !! Any gender , any age ! Everyone can collect dolls
Loved MH as a kid and I have recently started to collect dolls, rn I only have the Ghouls Alive Frankie which I love and I am planning to go on Vinted too, so I loved the video and appreciate all them tips
Awesome video! My mum gave away my collection when I was 13 or 14 and guess what? I just ordered a barbie signature looks 14 today because I am trying to at least have one and see what it feels like. I told my mum and she regrets, but then she didn't know thatt I cared for them that much. Long story short I need some dolls also I turn 20 this year dolls for life
im a kid and i dont have much money but i really want to start collecting. i dont really care about values and all of that crazy stuff i kind of just want to get a bunch of dolls to have as a hobby. the thing is, i’m not really sure what stores to go to or really how to start. i was going to ask my parents to take me to target over the weekend, but i dont know if my parents will really let me get many dolls if they’re over like 20 dollars. what stores would be good to go to and how much would you say regular dolls cost? also if i wanted some older dolls, would i have to buy them from other people or is there a more official way to buy them? of course if i end up more into this i’ll probably look more for thrifted and limited ones but for now i’m starting in store to be more casual
Maybe if you start following some people and try talking to them! Maybe give them some compliments about their collection and start talking about dolls 💕☺️
I want to start collecting dolls but I don’t know if I really want to or it’s because I keep watching doll collecting videos I think is cool and I would like to start but what if I regret it? Have you ever though about regretting every single doll you bought?
The only thing I’ve regretted is not getting a doll 😭 But do what feels best for you! You can always get one, and maybe after a while you regret it and you can sell it! But if you don’t get a doll and you keep on questioning if you like it or not you will never know. I would say give it a try 💕
Ever since I was a kid, I always wanted to collect Ever After High dolls but since they’re no longer in production, it’s really hard to find them. Any tips, please?
Hey! I think every kind of doll has it’s own community! Although we are all doll collectors we are all interested in different things! Baby Alives are not really fashion dolls, so maybe in a community that focuses more on those dolls! Def accepted yes 💕
Hi! Im a new collector (started december of last year) i have had some insecuritie problems regarding my doll collection size, as im 16 and i dont have a job or a way to gain money except on my bdays and christmas, this has made me quite insecure... I have like 10 dolls and im not even sure if im allowed on calling myself a collector, plus the fear of another collector saying something bad about my small collection makes me afraid to share it, i sadly dont have any doll collector friends 😅 i dont find alot of people my age, any tips? Greetings from 🇲🇽
I wouldn't worry about that. It's not about the number of dolls you have. I just started collecting and only have 4 so far. I don't even want to have hundreds of dolls. I only buy a doll if I really really really love it. You could just afford to buy 1 doll a year and still be a collector.
ın Turkey its so hard to find affordable prices beacuse like dollar is to high and people who bought dolls prviously on low rate now sell them on high rates
also you say now the previous price and price thats right know, and rareness, whats the best way to do that and like are they online sites that you suggest? also my couisn will live in america what kind of shops do you suggest me to so that she can bring me from there and ı will be giving her the money with the budget that ı saved :)
okay, I'm 2 years late, but how do you find the perfect sized shelf? I want to collect vintage mlp dolls and figurines, so they're fairly small. I may also collect monster high/equestria girl dolls. does anyone have any recommendations?
Hi thanks for the tips they are so useful and helpful:),but I have a problem with my family I actually wanna be a doll collector but they say I’m a boy and I can’t be a doll collector and they say dolls gonna affect my whole life can u help me with that?
I'm glad the tips helped! Well try to calm them down and maybe say it makes you so happy to be able to have the freedom to collect them. Explain that it's just a hobby and everyone else has their own. This is so innocent and wholesome. I hope they will understand
Show them all the TH-camrs that are guys and collect. You gotta do what you love, not what society pushes on you. That being said, many cultures can be very strict when it comes to gender stereotypes. Which always bugged me, because I feel like my gift choices for the little relatives get judged unfairly sometimes...but ultimately until you're an adult, it's their house their rules. But I think understanding parents want to give you a birthday or holiday gift you'll actually treasure. Good luck. 🙂👍
Girlfriend loves collecting barbies and signature dolls and designer dolls she has made one friend on market place she is very articulator onwhat she purchases
You are Dutch? I as well! I do have to say Vinted is not that safe. I sold a doll, shipped it and it arrived at the pick up point. Buyer said to vinted that someone else took the item while tracking said it's ready for pick up. Next day he said he went by and package wasn't there, but that same day tracking changed to that the item was picked up. Vinted said we will look at this, contact the shipping company and will let me know as soon as there are updates. After two weeks Vinted choose buyers side and didn't even let me know in a message. I contacted the shipping company who told me doll got delivered and picked up by buyer and Vinted never contacted them. I had to send so many message to vinted which they didn't even read first, later they said we will look at this again. It took weeks, but I did get my money back.
The space is always an issue unfortunately :( Maybe try and figure out how you feel about it first before you start! Ask yourself ''If I would be alone on this planet, would I feel embarrassed?'' IF the answer is no, then you know you enjoy collecting for yourself and you can try and gain a bit more confidence :3 Maybe talk to some other doll collectors about it, but if it makes you happy I would def say, try it
flashbacks to when i got rid of all my monster high dolls during my "im mature now i dont need these" phase

Wat leuk dat je Nederlands bent!! 💗💗 Nog een tip voor nederlandse verzamelaars is koningsdag vrijmarkten. 😊 Daar kan je ook veel poppen vinden.

my mom always moves my doll shelf in the sun 😢 she loves to move around the living room -that’s where my dolls are-
Can you move the shelf to your room? If not, cover them unless you're home enjoying them. 🌹

Thanks for this video
The breakdown is wonderful
Ever since I was a kid, I always wanted to collect Ever After High dolls but since they’re no longer in production, it’s really hard to find them. Any tips, please?
It is hard to find them! Try to look at thrift stores and online thrift stores for your country! I use Vinted 💕
eBay 👍

Is frustrating to see a doll worth no more than 20 bucks being on sale for more than 30 bucks. Abbey for example. I don't see her being rare
