My Private Jet2 737 flight from Gran Canaria to Newcastle

Back in December 2019, I flew with Jet2 for the very first time, on my way back home after spending a great few days staying with some friends down on the island of Gran Canaria.
With only 30 odd passengers for the flight back to the UK, it felt like I had my very own Private Boeing 737 to myself.
The Cabin crew was absolutely amazing. I had pre-ordered a meal prior to my flight (sausages & mash). Before departure one of the crew came around and asked what drink I would like with my meal and when I'd like it.
Despite still being on the ground this was a fantastic first impression. After departing Gran Canaria, there were beautiful views overlooking the city of Las Palmas as we climbed to our cruising altitude of 40,000ft.
After my meal, I then got a snack box and took the chance to do some editing on the 4hr 7minute flight back to Newcastle Airport.

Never flown Jet2. And the “simply blow into the tube” briefing is always going to make me think of the L Nielsen Airplane film. And Mind the gap makes me think of London….The Tube…So has Jet2 holidays employed their holiday entertainment team to script their inflight briefings? It’s very funny! Love it!

Felt the same way back in 04 when i flew on an Air france regional ERJ 145 from DUB to BOD. Only about 7 people on board.

It was crazy how quiet the flight was in the run up to Christmas. Very nice as a passenger tho.
