A lot of people don’t seem to understand this kind of music, reading some of the negative comments, yes it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but for many it’s very meditating and pleasant for the soul. Obviously it’s an art and requires a lot of dedication and time to create. People really need to learn, understand and appreciate ambient and drone music
I love this lady and her musical process is utterly fascinating. Eliane's compositions would be best described as an unfolding, a slow process of becoming. A blossoming of the self.
You're absolutely right. I respect what she's doing and the fact that she found her sound, even if it isn't discernable to me. I especially have respect for her because I know I wouldn't be able to get anything out of a 2500, and yet here she is finding her sound.
Astonishing brilliant person. I really really admire her spirit and her accomplishment. I admit though that I don't always have the concentration to 'really listen' especially over long periods of time. But the power of her individual acoustic vision is impressive.
My favourite woman composer of drone ambient music. She made strange dark ambient before the dark ambient existed Laurie Spiegel It is also another great reference with that style of ambient I think they are the pioneers of this genre in my opinion
Interesting how many people need to classify her in a genre. 'Ambient', 'Drone'...I think it's as far as possible from the truth. She is a composer, exploring sound, texture and energy. Just my take.
Seems random but i can believe she rights all this down on the diagram, then a 80 min run to then mix together crazy! she describes her music beautifully!
Eliane R. est une ancienne assistante de Pierre Henry, un autre grand compositeur de musique contemporaine, très influent (s'il n'avait pas consacré sa vie à la musique, nous n'aurions probablement pas eu de musique techno ...)
I personally don't care for the particular style she has, but that's just not my niche and to each their own. The way she describes her recording habits though, 2 years to lay down one track..that's serious dedication to your craft and you have to respect her and the end result of her labors, even if it doesn't necessarily pique your interest.
Funny; I make music, and sometimes it somewhat resembles this kind she does. And I totally get what she's talking about - listening with respect, and trying to figure out what "it" is saying. Here, I experimented with layers of high-pitched complex samples played back many times slower, then layered, then overdubbed with parts I thought would be fitting : soundcloud.com/zond/themisto-solitary
@Agent 19 ignorance is bliss obviously for you, if you didn’t like the “noise” why would you comment on it? She has a huge fan base and you’re not in it

Eliane is brilliant. She understands the power of a vibrational practice and ontology and the affect on consciousness.
it's so nice she still lives to understand the appreciations that are there !!!
So cool to see her being so passionate about her work.

This synth is a beast! Very good!
A unique perspective on Eliane Radigue's creative process of mastering the ARP 2500 and her audio processing techniques, my how things have changed.
Maravilloso material. Gracias!
