Fitzy, Your simple tip on nose position has transformed my swing. Strange but true. I have as a habit for 30 years set up with my head cocked slightly towards target. Using this tip has changed/improved my posture, take away whereby I stay connected, made my grip feel more secure, improved my downswing and follow through. (helps with putting as well ) Who knew this was possible? I will indeed be checking out many more of your videos. I won’t, however recommend your site to my friends as I don’t want them to take advantage of the tips you offer. 😂
Thank you for letting me know. People underestimate how a set up or posture change can influence the swing. I am so glad my video has helped you improve. I won’t tell anyone if you don’t. Our secret😀 Brian
Thank you I’m glad you found me. I’ve been a golf pro for almost 40 years coaching in Melbourne Australia. I’ve been making TH-cam videos for the past 10 years and have made 900+ videos. I’ve I make videos just like I coach to help normal everyday golfers lower their golf score. I hope you enjoy the back catalogue. Brian
Brian thank you for a lengthy instructional on the driver. It’s my nemesis. I am reasonably confident of my irons but the driver is a struggle. I’m going to try the centering method using my nose to align my position and try no use my same swing. I’m fairly sure that I’m trying to strike the ball with the intent of getting to the green in one stroke, and in those attempts I’m simply losing control of the swing. I’m in FL this week and I’ve played at the Ocean course and at the Conservatory course. Going to their range today and replaying the Conservatory tomorrow. Wish me luck, your patient videos have helped my game so much in the past two or three years.
Thanks Bob. I am glad your golf is improving. I like the fact that you said you were going to the range to try this approach. It is sensible approach. I know a few people that have watched this video will put it straight to work in their next competitive round and that is problematic. We are in for a cold spell here in Melbourne so I will be with you in spirit in warm Florida. Keep up the great work. Brian
Hey Brian Had been struggling with a pull hook and a push hook recently.. watched this video and it’s given my back my draw with the straight miss It’s much more fun from the fairways
Can’t believe I forgot this set up you showed me in a previous lesson. Makes sense I’ve been slicing the big dog all over the place or it goes hard left - none are good results Back to the range & see you at Dorset soon.
Thanks Brian, great advice. I’ve definitely moved my tee position back to centre over the past year and progressively lowered my tee height as I regularly skied drives. Couldn’t understand how a large driver head could get under the ball, but this video explains it. I’m definitely striking the ball on the downward swing. Something to tinker with on our golf trip to Numurkah this coming week. Thanks again.
Thanks Ian. I’m glad it helped you and is giving you something to work on. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for the weather for you. I hope you have a great trip. Brian
Thanks! I have been trying this lately and have found exactly what you are talking about. I felt more centered, easy to turn , a powerful position to swing.
Thanks Brian, My league partner does the reach down to touch his rt knee he hits more popups and it has transformed his iron swing so now he stays on his rt side and hits fat shots. I’m sending him this video.
can't wait to try this at the range this week - surprisingly some days my driver behaves and is predictable in a high fade shot shape, other days I either hit a big slice that goes 50m+ off target, or I pull hook and is impossible to predict and setup for especially when playing tight fairways. I have always applied shoulder tilt, which makes me think my setup is completely wrong and my shoulders are open as I normally do hit a fade even with longer irons
@@fitzygolfpro Thanks Brian, I did what every golf coach tells you not to do - I tried it out on the course this morning and to be honest it worked really well and instead of hitting big fades I was hitting fairly tight draws with the exception of 1 or 2 but I think this is something I can fine tune thank you
I would love to hide a camera on a Par 4 or 5 hole and record 100 people teeing off, The percentage of people doing this would be very high. You must be looking forward to the season of golf ahead Angie. Brian
Thanks Brian, I've seen your shoulder alignment tip before when you were working with a golfer on a course, but the nose position is completely new to me but makes perfect sense. I'm playing in an 18 hole stableford tomorrow so will be paying special attention to my setup.
Thanks Bob. I am glad you enjoyed. It would be a good idea to try these things out on a range or during a practice on the course rather than during a competitive round. Let me know how it goes. Brian.
Thanks Brian - they are very helpful tips and what you say is straight forward and makes sense. That is great you are going to be coaching at Dorset; that is my home course and I'll look forward to catching up with you.
This was an excellent video Brian on two Driver Mistakes! I agree with you about "others" recommendation of moving the right shoulder down too much at address. I agree with you that this isn't necessary because a player has a slight tilt taking place when the right hand is placed on the club at address anyway. The two other things you recommended and I will be paying attention to is nose position and ball position at address! I always pay attention to my shoulders and hips at address because my set up is for an in to out swing. Great Job Brian! One of your best!
Thanks John. I am glad you enjoyed the video. I love covering the basics as they are both so important and so often bypassed. In this hurry up short attention span world we live in some people skip the basics and go straight to the advanced stuff. Not a great thing to do. Thanks again for watching and your comment. Brian
@@fitzygolfpro I was so impressed with this video on Driver, that I am now going to find one in your collection on iron play! Your putting video has also helped me. My handicap is in a downward progression! :-)

Thank you so much Brian, very helpful tips. I have been doing all the things that you've recommended not to do. I wasn't tilting my shoulders and definitely hitting the ball further and straighter and then I watched another you tube video and it was telling me to tilt my shoulders , I've been trying to master this and my driving has been worse. I'm definitely going to go back to what you have recommended today and only watch and listen to your advice. Thank you
I hope things start to get better for you after going back to a more natural set up. Thanks for putting your trust in me to help you with your golf Donna. Brian
Thanks Brian. I think I have both of the two mistakes and this video is very helpful to understand them and will potentially improve my driver if I can correct them. A question for mistake number 2, how to practice alignment to make sure the all parts of the body are aimming correctly? Also, thanks for letting me know you will be available at Dorset golf course. I have booked a lesson in and I am looking forward to seeing you there on this Saturday.
I saw that and am looking forward to getting to work with you on Saturday. I know from the video you sent me we have to fix both of these. See you on Saturday. Brian
Great tuition as usual. Will try this. My natural shot is a fade or at best straight but try as I might, cannot hit a draw. Will try to apply your tips at the range first and maybe my years of not being able to hit a draw will be a distant memory. Other coaches have failed or rather I have but I believe like always we will be successful. Stay safe and thanks
Thanks David. You are either born a fader or a drawer of the ball. If you are one it is difficult to achieve the other. But if the draw is what you are trying to achieve. It is really important to get the set up matching your intention. I like the fact that you said try it on the range first. That is a great approach. I hope the weather is kind and you get out to play tomorrow. Brian.
@@fitzygolfpro Wait, I see this alot and how almost every video is trying to get ppl to have a nice draw or fade on the ball and I dont understand why, because just hit it straight.... with every single club. Am I actually the odd one out??? Huh?? This cant be the case surely... am I weird??
No you are not weird at all. I gave no bias towards clients hitting fades or draws. It’s whatever they do naturally that they should do. The most difficult shot is the straight shot. I have yet to see a golfer do that consistently. So thus would be though to achieve on a regular basis. So I am a fan of going with what someone can do naturally and then helping them to control it. Great Lesson absolutely me sometimes thanks for bringing that to my attention now I can birdie my favorite 300yd hole maybe eagle it huhI can drive it but sometimes it just won't draw now I know why
Hi Brian, I got a lesson last year and was told to push in my hip, struggled with my driver even more. Going to try your 2 tips, makes great sense. Any tips for driving off an uneven tee box, I know they should be level but not the ones I play on.
Hopefully these will help get your driving back on track. Practicing from those uneven tees is the best way. Get out on the quiet and hit a few tee shots from different spots and get used to it. Nothing can prepare you for it. A bit like driving a car in the rain. The more you do it the better you get at it. Thanks for watching and commenting Dermot. Brian
It can help some people some of the time but it won’t work for everyone. Ultimately it’s about the club face and not the feet. But give it a go. Brian.
If I tilt and move the ball forward like so many youtube Pros say then snap hook is incoming. The right hand is below the left, that's the shoulder tilt right there. Don't need to do any more.
