You guys caught something I missed! You should be able to route larger cables like USB 3.0 through the long gap underneath the motherboard - Either by routing the cable before mobo installation, or routing it off to the right side of the board (where the gap is larger) before sliding it over to the header. Sorry for the glaringly obvious oversight! #derplyfe #4giveme #humanerrorstrikesagain

What I'm interested in is the invertible mobo.
Especially wants to see the temps if you blow the inverted mobo and GPU with the top fans, since GPU's can be temp sensitive.

I've built in 2 BeQuiet cases now and one thing I can say easily is their cases hands down have some of the best build quality I've ever seen in any case. Seriously, I've worked with a lot of cases from crap generics, to budget friendly but surprisingly good aerocool, to very expensive Cooler Master and Phanteks Enthoos, but every BeQuiet case I've worked with (I have a Dark Base Pro 900 and my partner has the Silent Base 800) have left me more than a little impressed by just how good the build quality is with their cases compared to most. Even compared to a lot of the high end cases I've worked with. They're that good.
Also, when it comes to fans. You should take into account that those fans sold separately go for about 20 quid each ($27 USD each). They're really good fans with fluid dynamic bearings. So you should factor the quality of those fans and their relative cost when considering the overall cost of the case and it's quality. So in this case, $54 dollars of this case's value is built up just in the high end fans that it comes included with. All in all, it's an expensive case, but I do think it's reasonably priced.

Dude just run the USB 3.0 front panel connector first. Then put the motherboard in. You can then keep the cover on the PSU shroud. That would keep the clean look you are going for

As a proud owner of the Pure Base 600, I can testify of the amazing build quality, even at a €80 ($100) price point.
The 700 seems like the deluxe version; with the 3,5 inch covers, PSU shroud, invertible tray and many other small things.
If it fits your budget, definitely buy this case.

I'm just a bit worried about airflow with it. That top panel seems very restrictive.

    • @loosegroove7913
      @loosegroove7913 6 ปีที่แล้ว +7

Dawid Does Tech Stuff You are 100% correct. There is practically no room at all once the fans are mounted. And having more than a single 140 at the top is pointless as there is no place for the air to go and it just bounces back. The top panel is the only gripe I had with my db700. However, I bought the case with the intent to mod it. Once I cut a hole big enough to support 2 120 fans and installed a grill it is perfect. I highly recommend this case for modders and water coolers.

6:48 I haven't been hands on with a large amount of motherboards but im fairly certain that near enough all modern motherboards that are above say ~$120 (so any motherboard that you would pair with a case of this price) have a USB 3.0 port on the side of the motherboard near the 24 pin and actually if you have a look at 8:46 the motherboard kyle is using has that port there too so if removing that panel was sun a big deal why not use the other port? Additionally i find that right angle connectors for USB 3.0 headers often look a huge amount better that having a massive ugly plug sticking out an inch from your motherboard

In the case like this, I would actually just move the part with drive cage forward and just do it like everyone else - give ppl ability to mount HDD and ssd behind the back of the motherboard, and this case is wide enough. Because I feel like I do not want to see the drives sticking out inside of the case ruining my entirior because ppl who spent a lot of money for case, in most cases care a lot about aesthetics and looks that they'll get at the end. My fav case so far is Phantakes Enthoo evolv, very clean, and the build quality is supreme. JayZTwoCents actually pointed out that the airflow in case is not as good, it is true, but, in his last video he actually posted a website where you can buy the same kind of panels for top and front with mesh cut out for inproved airflow. I like that

Still trying to nail down the best quiet yet decent airflow midsize case with a TG window and three 3.5" bays (for small RAID5 array). I've had the DB Pro 900 in my pcpartpicker list for a couple of weeks. If this supported 3 mechanical drives in the basement it'd be perfect!

Phantecs Enthroo Pro M Tempered Glass, has great airflow, well made Supports 2 drives in the basement, however the rest of the 3.5 bays are removable and you can i'm sure one of the front locations will work good. It is also cheap.

That one is a frontrunner at the moment, dropping the Darkbase Pro 900 allowed me to put more money towards a GTX 1080 over a 1070. I'm waiting to see how much the DB700 comes in at in Canada.

I thind this pricing to be a common theme with Be Quiet. I've had numerous parts from them. My first case was a Silent Base 800 and a Dark Rock Pro 3, both of which were on sale. I stuffed a pure wing 140mm fan in every single place I could cram one. I use 2 silent wings 3 fans and 3 Pure Wings 2 fans in my current build. I would have used a silent loop for my first liquid cooler if they were available Stateside. Be Quiet has given me nothing but good experience... Well... Except for the DRP3 mounting process. Customer service has been quick and to the point all 4 times i've had questions for their customer service.
Though build quality is fantastic, their fans are great, and they keep a theme of classyness in almost everything they make. But they're not the be-all-end-all. They charge more than the competition for that "german quality." It's just not that competitive of them.

I'm using the Phanteks Enthoo Pro M Tempered Glass, and it's not completely dissimilar. The one thing I would like in mine that this has, is the mount for a vertical graphics card. But I do prefer my case's front IO being on the side instead of top with how I have my case placed.

Most likely, no, if you mount the AIO to the top of the case. Mount it to the front, and there would of course be no issue, but TridentZ RAM is just as tall as the first kit of Corsair RAM he used in the video.

@@wi1dcard192 That is definitely not true for all cases. MidTower cases with top mount aio do have an issue with ram heights on RGB sticks, as seen and talked about on this video.

So inverting the case... can the shroud, glass panel switch to the other side? Would be pointless inverting the mobo if it's all covered up.
Overall, this case reminds me of the Enthoo Evolv ATX with TG. It seems like they designed this case as a direct competitor to it. I would be interested in thermal and sound tests if you're planning on doing that in the future.

these rubber gromment holes should have had more slit in them to allow the grommet to better accomodate the cabling and not stay so open. I would like to see experimenting with gromments with brushes.

Thank you Bitwit for providing us, as always, great video content about Hardware and PC Build :D
OH Guys I NEED YOUR OPINION about the pc configuration i bought yesterday (~2500$) :
    - CPU : Intel i7-8700K (3.7GHz)
    - MB: MSI Z370 GAMING M5
    - RAM : 2x8Go Corsair Vengeance LPX Black 3200 MHz CAS 16
    - WaterCooling : Corsair H115i HydroSeries 280mm
    - GPU : MSI GTX 1080 Ti Gaming X 11Go
    - SSD M.2 : Samsung Série 960 EVO 250 Go
    - HDD : Seagate Barracuda 2To
    - PowerSupply : Corsair HX850i 850W 80+ Platinium
    - Case : NZXT S340 Elite Black
    - Wifi Card : TP-Link Archer T6E
    - Thermal Paste : Artic Cooling MX-2, 4g
I have some questions about my configuration :
    A) What do you think of this configuration overall ?
    B) Do you think it is equilibrate for 50% 4K Adobe Video Editing / 50% 4K Gaming in ultra ?
    C) Have you any suggestion/replacement to improve it ?
    D1) Should I wait 2018 to buy the new monitor ASUS PG27UQ 27" 4K 144Hz Nvidia G-Sync HDR10 ? :P
D2) If not, what monitor would you recomand ?
    E) Do you think this configuration or some composants are overkill for 2017 ?
Thank you a lot for any help to a young french man who begin in hardware !

This case is my favorite of the year but i'm not a fan of all this choked air-flow these days. If I were to purchase this case, those internal front air ducts would see a rotary tool. Actually the entire front exterior panel might visit a drill press.
Though the tempered glass cases *with* better air-flow, such as the Meshify-C are too small for custom water loop options.
And while I like the tempered glass look, one would think manufacturers could use a higher quality (thicker) acrylic, providing a similar appearance, reducing shipping provisions and increasing durability.
Hopefully we'll see a better compromise next year.
I'd also like to see more cases with the motherboard turned with the I/O on top, resolving gpu sag and usually providing better air-flow, due to hot air rising, with the exhaust on the top, like the majority of the SilverStone Tek Fortress series. I'm still using a Fortress II case from 2008 myself but I'm ready to explore water cooling, going for a quieter system without sacrificing overclocking headroom within a classy mid-size package.
Speaking of classy (provided one can detach their loud case badging), where's Jonsbo at within the North American market ?

just 1 question.. is that fan controller a real PWM controller? the previous version (DB 900) were not. they just take the PWM signal and feed it to the DC controller (i forgot if it was a simple transistor / mosfet circuit or IC based). so, both 4 pin and 3 pin headers is working at DC mode. I ended bypassing the PWM signal to every single of 4 pin headers and keep the fan controller at max speed (12V. lowest speed were 6V)
