DBP 900 rev.2 owner here. The older brother of the 901 has served me incredibly well thus far, so no regrets there. The only issue I have, is the shattering of the tempered glass while cleaning the case thoroughly. The case reached EoL and I can't find a replacement side panel for it. I'm considering decommissioning the 900 and getting the 901, as it looks like a worthy replacement.

I have the Dark Base 900 (non pro). I think it looks better than the new 901. The appearance of the 901 makes it look cheap.
Some functions on the 900 I prefer over the 901:
    - The door. It gives me the option of air intake from the side vents or, when opened, directly from the front. I can easily close it instead of removing and mounting a front panel.
    - Hidden fan controller. I like the idea of having a fan control slider/switch hidden behind the door.
    - No window option. I hate RGB lights, they give me a migraine. There is no window on the 900.
    - Feet. The feet on the 900 are located under the case, nothing sticking out. I previously owned their Silent Base 800 which had the feet located to each side of the case. They just got in the way.
    - Optical drive bay. The drive bays are hidden behind the door. This gives the cae a singular smooth front. Plus there are two bays for drives instead of one. When not in use each bay has a filtered cover. You can also remove both covers and install an optional third 140mm fan.
    - No non pro version. Bequiet! isn't offering a non pro version of the case. For me that means there are things I don't want and/or would never use such as: the window and phone charger.
Some things I prefer on the 901:
    - PSU mount. One thing about the 900 and 900 Pro that always baffled me, is why the PSU can't be mounted flush with the back of the case. The PSU is set back in the case several centimeters. The rear power plug is then connected to the PSU by an internal power cable. The position of the PSU blocks the option of installing an intake fan directly under the GPU. Makes no sense whatsoever.

Also there seems to be more room in top compartment. I have fitted my AIO radiator in the top, and fans mounted below inside the case. Very clean.

The 900 sucks for my use no space at the back pannel. When you use a corsair AX1600 PSU you need a new power plug. The 901 have more space. The 901 is more stable on his feet. But the 900 is a beautiful case

  • @Toutvids

Yep, I will be getting this case and the main reasons are the qi charger and a 5.25" drive so I can put my DVD burner back in my computer. Basically no one makes a modern case with 5.25" bays anymore.
I do wish they would make the side panels with glass windows rather than a whole side of glass. It adds so much weight and usually shows too much of the internals. I miss the days of cool shaped windows in side panels. Even just a mesh side panel with a small window would be perfect. It was one of the reasons the old HAF 932 case was so popular back in the day.

That 5.25' drive bay is exactly why I love (and need) this case. Thermaltake X71 is out of stock and Caselabs are barely getting back on their feet, so no SMA8 anytime soon. Also, since you reviewed every single aspect of this case, do you have any idea if there's still room for the optical drive with three 140mm fans mounted in the front?
Edit: the only thing it misses is a hinged panel, but hey, that's not impossible to do on my own. This case is worth every penny.

I just bought one and installed a motherload of performance in it.
Be ware! If you put 3 x 120 SW4 on the side and you want a HD 3,5 in it you can't place a optical drive! The 3,5 goes where the optical drive goes or vice versa.
    Good case though!

It's actually very similar to their Dark Base 700 but on this one you get a lot of accessories and they have improved the airflow plus the fancy touch controls at the front. At that price point for me that's a hard sell because there are other options as well to consider. Over 300 quid is a lot of money that can be spent on something else, perhaps the majority will prioritise on a GPU or better motherboard nowadays. I feel like Bequiet went a little far with their 'see if it sells' this time as the accessories usually can be purchased online, allowing for a better price on the product itself. Is it nice? Yes, Does it provide enough options? Again as their previous cases, yes. Would I buy it? Hm..

    Big review video.
I was thinking about the placement of my fans if I decided to go for this case and I got the information I was looking for. Mainly: 3x 120mm fans front , 140mm fan bottom (in the front), exhaust back and radiator top. I am so invested in the cooling for high performance at (hopefully) lower fanspeeds.
I am a novice builder and an amateur gaming enthusiast, so these kinds of reviews really help inform me to make decisions on the parts I am interested in.
Currently looking for a collection of BeQuiet components that I have currently fallen for, to aid in my pursuit of performance.
Obviously the fans will work harder under stress but which gamer wont be using headphones during gameplay?
Very important that it's silent when not under heavy load.
The parts I am currently shopping around for are:
Be Quiet! Silent Wings 4 Pro 140mm PWM ((Bottom))
Be Quiet! Dark Power 13 1000W
    Be Quiet! Silent Loop 2 360mm (3x120mm)
This will be used to power and cool an Asus Rog Strix G OC 4090 and Ryzen 7950x3d
The one thing I am a little uncertain of is this: using the mesh, does it have ANY sound dampening or alternatively : Does it cool efficiently through the sides of the front using the solid front?
Feels like my comment is not really for anyone else just me venting (lulz) and formulating my thoughts. Also - - Comment ended up rather "big" as well.
Thanks again , have my like.

The only view showing off the fans' RPM levels (and have levels 1 2 3 4 SIX in the vid when it's 5 ^^; )
Debating either the 7000D or this coming from a Thermaltake Core V71
I don't know if adding PWM'd 1700-1900RPM fans from non BeQuiet brand would work correctly in the chassis' FAN HEADER at the top/front and still be able to control them with the tower's tactile buttons (Otherwise ya forced to get SW4)

White though; wouldn't the metal/plastic thing going on at the bottom drive you batty because inevitably the whites wouldn't match? It would me. I do like all they've done with the interior A LOT; but the exterior is a little bland and sameywamey to a lot of other cases out there for me. I think it needs some colour contrast. That card support is killer; the optical drive bay I'd use. Very scoring feature-and-attention-to-detail-wise, but it isn't saying "Buy me!" tbh. I 100% disagree with building this case for Water Cooling. I've tried building in the Dark Base 900 Rev 2 with a 360 rad for the CPU mounted in the front with the PumpRes combo and a GPU with a 240 AIO Rad in the top and it felt and looked cramped; I ended up buying a Phanteks Enthoo 719 and it feels like better quality and a better manual then Bequiet especially for water cooling.
The Bequiet 900/901 case would be good for having a lot of fans to move air or lots of drives for a workstation also it's shorter and longer then the 900 rev2.
