My heart broke! Classic was truly the underdog. After facing Dark, now Maru. No team mates for advice or support. He probably didn't have as much sponsors neither as he was due for service. You can tell every tactic, counter, and push he put so much heart. He was hungry!

Still, one of the most enjoyable spectator games of all time, and the Tasteosis combo always makes it hilarious. Best 2 casters. And Maru, for now, most entertaining player. I know that Quake III has no equal in terms of skill cap, but for an RTS, this is damn entertaining and nail biting shit.

What a series! A true chess match by two of the all time greats! Its difficult to see a back and forth series at the highest level like this these days.
@@with.the.y Maru managed to shutdown most of Classic other aggression such as Zealots and DTs flanks. Those build up Maru's confidence to tech BCs without hesitation. He experienced this kind of game before when vs. Dear (Although he was behind in the middle of the game).
I never thought I would see a mass battlecruiser build !especially in a final ! Amazing Edit: I think even Classic was surprised by seeing mass battlecruisers
he can't prepare for anything against BC. Cannon and S.batteries to move out an inch? Or Mothership cloak and recall? with almost unlimited late game scan, you can't hide it from yamato. BC will always out maneuver any single unit with its build in jump and Yamato plus repairable. Maru is super good, fully deserve to win the title, but the BC game is quite one sided due to late game design.
@@kinglif8854 terran vs protoss is simply broken period at this level, protoss has to do WORK. Terran just does a 7:30 push with ~4 siege tanks and ton of bio / medivac. Good luck stopping it. Oh and in this game, Maru can hold easily with vikings, liberator and siege tank and send half or more his army to go harass. Broken game design at this level .
I don't agree with it. Starcraft 2 (korean version) is now basically a competition among 7-8 players (Inno,TY,hero,Classic,Stats,Rogue,Maru.... ) for more than 2 years.Among them only Innovation,Stats and Maru have the quality to win the GSL. No possibility of any new player coming. Dominating in a tournament where competition is so low won't make anyone all time greatest. It will always be MVP to me who won every possible tournament he could participate when sc2 was in it's most competitive version. Besides , Maru's performance in shorter length tournament(where momentum is everything like gsl vs the world, blizzcon) is poor even now. In my opinion, Maru isn't the only player who is considered as the best player in present time. In preparation based tournament Maru is the best among current players while in shorter length tournament Serral is the best.
Nah, he got his ass kicked at round of 8 in BlizzCon by sOs, and eliminated really quick in GSL vs The World. He was too scared to go against Serral last year, and this year he only got the GSL and lost everything else so far. I can see Reynor kicking beating him later this year.

Meanwhile we had 10 different Koreans winning premier tournaments since the beginning of 2017: Maru, Innovation, TY, Gumiho, Stats, Classic, herO, Zest, Rogue and soO. Add runner ups to the equation and we have additional 3 additional players with sOs, Solar and Dark. So thats almost a packed Ro16. Also that there is no possibility of any new players coming (which is a bold statement, but I get your point) isn't a sign of low competition but caused by the fact that competition in Korea is that insanely hard that newcomers barely have a chance to establish themselves. While this is a problem in terms of the longevity of the Korean SC2-scene it doesn't make GSL a tournament with low competition yet. Maru isn't only incredible for his 4 GSLs in a row but also for his two Starleague Championships in 2013 and 2015 and for his crazy consistency placing in the Ro4 in 10 (!) other premier tournaments and achieving two 2nd places in stacked tournaments. Adding his unprecedented Proleage-records this basically means that Maru never had something like a slump in his entire career since his breakthrough in 2013 which explains why he always was feared by other top players and considered a likely championship contender. We can now say, we don't know what MVP would've achieved if he hadn't had his severes wrist issues. Probably he would've shown more greatness. But then again: there is no player at all who was successful in the early days and managed to carry that over until now. It's highly questionable if MVP would've been able to maintain his greatness with kespa-switch or with Hots or now LotV. But in the end it doesn't matter what *could* have been.

it's either your perspective or the plasma in your screen, try shaking the screen. if that doesn't work take a color blindness test to see if your ability to see certain colors has faded away...
I don't know about any of you, but I'm not sure a proxy against Maru is going to work. Looking at classic game one unit comp, he was dedicating himself to a micro game against the best micro player in the world. It won't work.

Well a build usually refers to something that you do in the early/mid game. This was more a BC transition.
