Yeah, ramping up the bass really sets this apart from all the multitude of covers around. The melody is iconic but that really breathed new life into it for me.
I think it must've been really difficult to come up with an arrangement that didn't just sound like the Mjolnir Mix that Vai played on, and I think you really pulled it off. 10/10 well done!

The thing I dislike about game music nowadays is that the title screens love to have that low, droning hum that tries to sound serious and foreboding or whatever. I mean, it's not bad, but it's like every game I pick up just wants to be super serious and cool and edgy and I'm getting sick of it. I want something to hum when I'm at work, dangit! Give me a melody or something! Try to have some semblance of individuality!

If you find yourself having trouble with precision aiming in the first Halo (Halo Anniversary), try switching the graphics to their old settings. May just be me because I'm so used to it, but I find it better.

My friend and I were switching the graphics back and forth because... well, it's funny, frankly. Even funnier in 2 when you can change mid-cutscene. XD I figure playing on Anniversary gfx consistently would fix the problem eventually.

I knew a guy from college 15 years ago almost. He had a Music Man. I was not even looking at the screen and when you began to play it, I was like that's a Music Man. I have only ever heard one played live and it was that guy. He was a great guitarist too.
One thing that will always make this a fave song from all of Halo will be how it came about. Steve Vai was just left alone with the main melody and went fucking HAM on his guitar. Will forever love the fact it all came about in one jam session

Halo got me and the boys through some tough times. Hearing this made me actually cry! Making anything sound beautiful and badass at the same time is the hardest thing any musician can do. The Halo theme (gregorian chant) was written in the car on the way to work by Martin O'Donnell 3 DAYS before it played live at MacWorld (The game was developed for Macintosh, scooped up by Microsoft in early alpha for the Xbox) so yeah, this was written in a car and is STILL better than alotta music written in studios.

Your covers are so amazing! You add your own flair but it doesn't distract from the main piece, which a lot of other artists lack.
