It's a shame that in Italy we never made a theatrical staging of POTO. The songs were translated ONLY in 2004 for the movie at the request of Andrew Lloyd Webber. At first they wanted to put just the subtitles. ALW said it was foolish that this happened in a country that has such a tradition in opera singing as Italy
In France, the opera has burned before the first representation... :'(
Wow!! I find that unbelievable?! NOT in Italian?! Wow!! 😱
@@yama5182 I briefly interviewed someone who did Valjean in Les Miserables in Italy (not often done in Italian over there) and he claims he sang Phantom in Italian too, so there must be words to use if needed.
@@ruthkenyon1723 was it Luca Velletri, he was the Italian singing voice for the Phantom in the 2004 movie.
The only non-movie version that I know of done in Italy was done by an academy type place (I’m not sure if they translated or did it in English).
Ehy, sorry if I text one year later…I’m Italian and you’re absolutely right! I love this musical and I sing too. My dream is to sing POTO,but in Italy no one has ever made this musical, only exists the film version :dubbed in our language (luckily)
When I started singing the song in Swedish the Swedish came....I was scared for life at a sec..
The "Ahhhhhh" is universal
Throughout the entire video I was just thinking to myself “okay, Japanese actress is really good....ok, Spanish one is really strong ...ok, Hungarian has an amazing duet... ok, Russian one has awesome camera angles like always”, but then I realized that they’re all done amazingly well, haha. For the first time I did not have favorites, they all are on par with each other.
P.s: I knew you would do the Phantom of the Opera next haha. I was just sure of it for some reason. Regardless, as always, I’m in ave of your work, I discovered so many worthy musicals through your videos. Thank you for what you’re doing, please don’t stop. 👏
Phantom of the Opera, my favorite musical!!
The Phantom is simply the greatest theatrical experience of all time. Amazing that it’s reached popularity across the entire globe.
The mask on the Russian Phantom fits so perfectly!
Is the Phantom Ivan Ozhogin?
yes@@alisarudolph99
Yes, it is Ivan Ozhogin @@alisarudolph99
@@alisarudolph99yep, that's him)
This was so cool! I loved the Norwegian Christine's voice.
At first I was bummed you used Gerard/Emmy for English instead of Michael/Sarah or Ramin/Sierra (my favorite Phantom and Christine pairings, along with JOJ and Gina Beck), but then I was like "ahhhh there they are!" :p
Czech sounded so pretty and the Chinese Phantom is so handsome, also that transition at 3:26 was very smooth 😍 very well done 👏👏👏
This is awesome. I love hearing musicals/songs in languages other than my own.
Lina Mendes representing Brazil perfectly! I miss her Christine so much
Do you know her personally?
@@hannahmae2478 I did. She is a very amazing actress and she is the voice of a lot of cartoon's characters in Brazil. Ahsoka Tano, Juniper Lee, Coraline... She is perfect. But that phantom... He is not so good. Sometimes, when he say "sing for me" we understand something like "shit for me" kkkkkkkk
Luiz Fernando Arantes that’s so amazing you knew her personally, must of been a huge honor. 🤩 😊

The Korean version omg im in love 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Its amazing how many languages there are its brilliant
Very nice! Although I wonder why the Chinese phantom doesn’t wear a mask ... 😁
It's from a music album. Unluckily there's still not a full Chinese version performance of this musical.
@@hulenkius that’s about to change next year!

I will always love the english version, but i loved the Japanese and Brazilian too! I'm from Brazil, "Canta pra Mim"! 🇧🇷
Too bad there isnt the French version...
There is no French version...
@Uiyu Krankreda Nah, it was bad. As was the singing in the English version of that movie (except some singers). Gerard certainly couldn't sing to save his own skin in that movie. His acting had raw emotion though. but he sounded too rockin' roll. Which is what felled Steve Harley as the favorite for the part initially (for the original stage production in 1986 I mean) too. And SADLY the French version kept that tone going in their dub.
I know. I’m shocked that there wasn’t a French Version.
Probably because it would awaken the actual Phantom.
@cloudyloudly2404 there is a French version of the song.
@@Elly3981
Really? May you send a link?
I mean like, an official version.
Csodálatos volt a videó, mint mindig!
This is amazing! I'm literally in tears! I love this!
That is one handsome chinese Phantom! 😂 Oh, and I wanted swedish Mikael Samuelsson! He's my favorite Phantom, but Peter is great too.
the official phantom page used your video!!! 😍
They all sound so good! I love this!!! XD

The fact that there's no French kills me.
One day hopefully
@Nuria K Nuria I know is wild to believe but the entire story takes place in France not just the sewer part.
Oh the irony
So true, I came here for the French one, but when I realized there was no French in the languages list, I realized I had just wasted three minutes of my time
Probably because the play is set in France. So it would make to much sense.
I love the Czech version
Always sound amazing ⭐️
Shit got me quaking and crying and shaking and shivering

Saludos desde Panama😍😍😍😍
They all sound great.
My favourite show 😍
Wow great work!! Thanks!!
Mesmerisingly beautiful iin all languages!
Lina Mendes was a very good Christine, but my favorite brazilian Christine is Sara Sarres
Great video!!!!
Impossible to pick a favourite, still, I really enjoyed the English (2011), Russian and Chinese version.
I am offended on behalf of Dutch and Polish people...
Other than that, it was really cool 👍👍
Love it 😍😍😍😍
I'd like to have seen just a glimpse of Steve Harley and/or Colm Wilkinson, since they were the Phantom even before Michael Crawford. But this really is amazing!
as many familiar faces among The Phantom of the Opera)).. Did I understand correctly that where the Brazilian and Mexican castes flashed Saulo Vasconcelos? I'm not sure about Brazil, though.. Special mercy for the Hungarian Phantom and his colleagues from Denmark, England (1988) and Argentina.
yeah, he did it in 1999 in Mexico, one of the first works, and in 2005 he did it in Brazil. Just like Les Misérables, where he did Javert in Mexico in 1999, and in 2001 he did in Brazil.
Can someone compile all the lines together? This would make for a very fun singalong.
2:39 is it really Peter Jöback I'm listening to?? In the Swedish version? I LOVE his Phantom.
I didn't change the audio so I guess it's him.
Lol Ramin(English2011) is my fav🔥🔥❤❤❣❣💘💝💖💗💗
Love it uwu💖🌺🎭
If anyone asked me my fav of these, I'd say yes.
Save the best for last..
Sierra & Ramin.

For better video quality.
I found better expoting settings for the video and the overall quality looks better now.

Where did you find Swedish version (audio)? I've been searching for it but I can't find it
Spanish Phantom is one of the best Phantom I ever hear and he is not singing here :(
Ah, too bad this was made before 2021. In Master in the House, they had musical actors Shin Sung Rok and Kim So Hyun sing in English. Kim So Hyun is Korea's Christine (she is THE Christine of Korea) be it in Phantom of the Opera or Maury Yeston's Phantom. Anyone notice that the Norwegian mask is on the right or the left side of his face
Mexican looks like what you see in a theatre kids backyard at 3:00am
It's because there is no official recordings of it. It's a shame actually. The cast was really good.
@@MariaPerez-wv4we The Mexican cast recording was released in 2002, with by far, the best Christine I have heard on recording. Her coloratura is outstanding!!!
@@tonyandrade8131 But it was not the "exact same cast" the main diference is the Phantom. This one may be Saul Vasconcelos. The one in the recordings was Juan Navarro. And Yes. The soprano who was Christine is great.
interesting multi -language (y)
Does anyone know who the Christines are in order from the lead up to the C6 note? (Starting from 3:20)

The videos are mostly from youtube and one or two from FB.
