Kinilaw, adobo, dinuguan, and other dishes are typical everyday meals but real Lechon is the centerpiece for special occasions like fiestas or when you have special visitors. That is why many consider Lechon as our national dish. Your kids & visitors will appreciate it. Again it's a whole pig, not just chicken. And it is roasted, not just fried or grilled.

the friend of your kids is also used to pinoy kakanins (native cakes/delicacies) and your inlaws are very open to the new tastes. don't worry mom in law... eat more and swim more to not gain weight haha orange - kutchinta- jelly like white with yellow bottom - puto flan rice cake with egg flan thin round whites and purple looks like palitao (they are cooked on boiling water) ube - is a root crop like cassava hope that helps
kinilaw must eat with white rice. but for us native Filipino especially me from Mindanao we eat kinilaw with white rice but the rice should be cold rice or "bahaw" because that's the most interesting taste when you eat it bahaw 😊
