service your injector seals, check your crank case pipe that goes from intake to crank(its under the intake) also your rocket cover breather hose and o-rings on the dip stick
Very insightful video - its given me a few ideas of what to try next. Was wondering if you could help me out with my e30 325i. the engine wont start and It wont idle unless I give it a bit of throttle - if I don't the engine will idle at a very slow rpm and eventually dies. Once I apply a small amount of throttle it idles very smoothly, I can rev the engine and again, its smooth, however it always needs the throttle slightly cracked open to idle correctly (for now im using cable ties to ensure it never fully closes). I've cleaned the ICV, it buzzes with ignition on and I know It does move which makes me believe that's not the issue, however all the symptoms suggest that it is the ICV at fault. To me it seems as though the ICV is a bit slow to react and doesn't open enough for the engine to start. I haven't done the shake test yet. the engine has a host of new parts, including the intake boot. I have also noticed that the ICV elbow has no seal, so i'll also try sealing it with rcv. the oil cap is slightly cracked, I don't know how much difference this would make considering the car will not start or idle at all without opening the throttle. I don't have a leak tester so finding vacuum leaks is difficult. any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Really hard to say. Go for the obvious stuff first. If the oil cap is cracked replace it to see if it makes a difference. Make sure the throttle plate is not getting hung up as well (clean it if needed).
Hello dear friend. By chance you have the vehicle manual where it specifies the tests that can be carried out in the ICV. I'm having idle instability issues on my 1990 e30 320i. I came across a magazine article that said between the center pin (+) of the ICV connector and ground, you need to measure the battery voltage. And between the center pin (2) and pins 1 and 3, it should measure 10 VDC. In my case, pin 2 and pin 3 measure 4.1 VDC. I measured it at the output of the ECU (positive battery and pin 4 ECU) and the value is the same. I changed the ECU and the output voltage value between positive battery and pin 4 ECU is 4.1 VDC. Some help ?. Greetings from Chile, South America.

Hello! Did you find out why your 325 was burning oil through the exhaust smoke? Did the valves just need adjusting? Or was it the piston rings?
is your car manual or automatic? also what model 325 is it?
