Nice words. Let's live up to the rhetoric. Minorities serve at higher rates than whites in our military when compared their numbers in the total population. The military has not been the best ambassador for equality over the years.
@@petedog9581 That is as much a consequence of the all volunteer military as anything. Too many of us rely on a smaller pool of families bearing the brunt of service. But suggesting that we bring back the draft is a non-starter.
@@rabidsamfan I don't get your point. Minorities, women, and LGBT vets have been historically harassed and discriminated against in the armed forces, even though they chose to serve their country. Are you implying that we rely on those minority families more, bc they serve at a higher per capita? That has more to do with poverty and few opportunities other than the military. Nobody wants a draft. We can't even get people to get vaccines. That would never work.
