The problem with the old sound files is that they’re converted from V4.0 projects that were created some 4-5 years ago. Another thing worth noting is that the user needs to map the function outputs to the Scaletrains setup (AUX1 numberboards, AUX3-AUX4 front ditchlights, AUX5-AUX6 rear ditchlights) I’m extremely confident that Scaletrains will use this project from the factory on the upcoming N scale SD40-3s. ESU knocked this and the remastered #S0775 file out of the park!
Great video, crazy how much better this soundfile is. I had a quick question, when you put the ScaleSoundSystems speakers in these did you have to do any soldering other then the speaker itself? I noticed on the SSS page it says you may have to desolder the truck leads, but I just wished to ask your experience.
The only soldering I had to do was soldering the leads to the speaker. It can be tricky to split the frames and maneuver the wires without breaking them.
I don't think you can actually. I've heard of people putting V4 files on V5s and having to do some work to get them to work correctly but I don't think it's reverse compatible. Truthfully, I'd replace the V4s with V5s so then you get more features and better performance.

Is there anyway to put this file in a V4 I have 3 YN3 non boxcar logo Ho SD40-3s with factory V4s is it possible to use this file in them?
