This is probably mostly Chinese… but yes many of these sayings were transferred to the West. Some of them are identical to other culture’s proverbs.
But yeah, they’re mostly Chinese proverbs.

Many of there ideas were transmitted through the Taoist/Buddhist influence on Japan.
These are all great quotes but I still enjoy talking shit about them
Some of these proverbs are really hard to understand probably due to being lost in translation or perhaps I just fall in the category of "fools" in some of these proverbs.

Yes and its mostly Lao Tzu and he lived in 500 BCE and visited India , there is still an forgotten stone inscription of the visit by Chinese who gained wisdom from ancient India. I say "Ancient India" specifically as not of today's India..
